@Shanus  Hi, I still don't know what  type of laser treatment you used

but 30 days is highly unusal to feel irritated.  Unless you got the CO2 laser.  It's a great one but certainly expect it if it was that indeed. It could take another month.  It's very costly for the origianl "CO2' versus that dumb "cool peel" I did.  Mine was very light and not worth the price.

All you have to do is call your doctor and ask what you had.

I also wanted to mention for any of you out there who use tret, retinoids, acids, it's best to stop all of that at least a week for treatment.

This will cause much unnecessary irritation and sensitivity.

What did you use?  One can use lasers in their 80's and it doesn't take more than 4 or 5 days for down time at best.  We are in a new world.

Thank you for the answer as I'm really confused on exactlly what procedure you had.

Ok, I'm brave don't crack up laughing well please do so.  I covered my eyes as I'm so blond and don't have eyebrow pencil on.  I always arrive with a clean face.  The redness is just starting and swelling but do feel this will end up being a much easier session than two weeks ok.  Ayayaya on that one.

I think I feel tighter as well all around somehow.

@Sugipine  I know you like lips and I think I finally found the right person. Hope she is a keeper.  Used RHA 2 as well.  RHA 2 is for lips. I love the PS but they bruise you so badly always (they don't care move  fast yet precise) and I refuse to let them do it.  I did bring pictures today.  She listened well  and I showed her pictures of the lip I desired.  We went slowly. Between 2 treatments I got there at 10 am and left at 12:45 pm.

Here's the lip pic.  Forget the redness, etc.  I'm brave, but don't care. lol.  Hope it helps others to go ahead and try something. My lips will bruise a bit as I can see it's starting.  But she's good, it will be hardly anything!

My hair is greasy with the numbing cream as well.  It's a hot mess what can I say.  But I like her lip.  What I really thought was nice come back next month when it settles and I can perfect it.  Then I can go almost a year with RHA.

We see.

Thanks for posting @Pink123 .  Lips look good (even with the swelling and redness) and I bet you get a good result.  I am considering getting fraxel laser done again.  I did it about 20 years ago and had wonderful results.  Since then I have used at home lasers and had radiofrequency microneedling about 2 years ago.  Trying to decide which to do again.  I was red after the laser since my derm turned it up when she did the treatments.  But no big deal and I loved the results.   Haven't considered doing my lips since I don't go out much and my husband isn't a fan of the bigger lips.  He just isn't and I do pay attention to what he likes.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

Thanks @Jk9  I think this one is a keeper for lips.  They are not swollen and of course will go down tomorrow and be a touch better.  I'm happy with the shape.  I do not  like the cupid bow with the big droop down look lip. only one syringe was used.  My lower lip has always has been plump and does not need it.

I understand but at home treatments just will never get it done like the big  lasers.

Other than lasers, I spend money on drugstore Cetaphil, Aveenoe oatmeal lotion  products.  I'll forward a picture when I normal if I can find here.

Re: NONABLATIVE LASER

[ Edited ]

@Jk9  this is my lip.  I do not enjoy the cupid bow that drags down meaning the face.

It was always mine but I've mentioned here countless times I had a car accident early on in life and hit the steering wheel.  I got a scar on one side of my lip and so the other side was crooked.

But all well now with science and some help.

Plus when women age the lips get so flat and need some lift.  I did not touch the bottom.  Today or for years.20230304_174008 jacket lips.jpg

@Pink123

Yes, your lips do look good.

I won't be getting any fillers anywhere b/c of elasticity issues...my lips and skin doesn't stretch much at all so lip fillers, especially, would be painful. That's what my derm told me. She had a few scleroderma patients with lip fillers and they were not happy with the pain it produced...no thanks. It would be nice though to have fuller lips. Mine are pencil thin b/c of the scleroderma.

@Sugipine  I understand you completely.  It's tight so very hard to stretch and could cause more problems.  I would leave this alone for sure.

When I went I told PA I think I might have Lupus and she has a few patients with it.  Some blow up in their arms, in chest, not only in the face.

However, lasers do help this situation.  She said I don't think you have it as you do not have the  butterfly shape which is recognizable.  Who know's?  I'll have full  blood work in hospital in September and find out if it is or not.

here is another shot of my normal lip taken 6  months ago or so.

I'm very happy with lasers too. Smiley Happy

@Pink123   I know it wasn't fraxel and IPL is more gentle for my first time around to address some darker spots.

IMHO, although you're happy with results and all you're having done, it seems you have other issues that would keep me from having fillers and other procedures. My doc went through a very thorough physical questionaire and also asked for my last bloodwork from my PP. If any illnesses were present, he said he wouldn't proceed.

BTW, it was a two week period until all the redness/swelling were gone, not a month. I did check in after 1 week and he was surprised my skin was so sensitive.

You do you.

Well @Shanus  "you do you"??  I don't really know what you are talking about.  IPL is brown spots.  Old age spots is what it is and most lasers can correct this.

You were complaining about redness for a month?? This is unheard of,  and it's not nice to scare people off of safe rejuvenating procedures.  Downtime for a typical PDL, IPL, is 3  days to 5.

It's hard to understand what you say but please do not scare away from people looking their best.

Honestly I don't think you had it at all as you would have known what it was.  You started the thread too.

Nonsense.

@Pink123 I didn't expect home lasers to do a lot but use them as a complement to professional treatments as after care.  Frankly, I decided not to spend discretionary funds on treatments for me when we had horses and I chose to invest more in equine related things.  For example, my saddle cost over $2500 and then there's the bridle  and other trappings, all matching.  So, I just put lasers, etc on the back burner.  Fast forward, and I am ready to consider modalities for my face again since we no longer ride.

You are fortunate to have nice natural lips.  I have had fairly full lips until this year when my lower lip "disappeared".  Taking medications for hyperhidrosis hasn't helped things, but my upper lip is still full.  Oh well, things can get complicated.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.
