No issues here, yet.  I was at my ULTA yesterday and kept being asked if I needed help.  I sometimes like to take my time and look around while picking up what I need, so I like a balance of asking if I need help and then letting me be.

I'm another "just leave me alone and let me look" person.  I've done all my shopping online for years. But to me there is NOTHING more annoying than constantly being asked if I need help. I can usually make it to about the 3rd attempt to help me before I either get blunt or simply walk out without buying anything. I do however expect them to have enough staff on the floor that I can find help if I do have a question and at the cash register so that I don't have to wander around half the store trying to pay. But half the fun of shopping is looking at everything else while I'm finding what I actually went in for (and that's assuming I actually had something specific in mind.

I've never felt invisible. If I do actually need help finding something I've always been able to get help and generally very cheery help at that.

If I do notice a sales person is unresponsive I always chalk it up to laziness on their part and never due to my age, 72.

I just don't take any of that personally or make it about me. It's always about the salesperson's lack of professionalism

Certainly have seen it both ways.  Clerks on top of you, and other times, no clerks in sight.  It is frustrating to have to search out someone who can take your money.

I don't care whether there is help at my Ulta or not -  I haven't gone there for close to a decade because when I did go, the clerks looked scruffy, the store looked dirty and disorganized, and I saw no reason to drive 15 miles for that.  CVS or another local store does me just fine.

Sadly for the Ulta company, that experience was such a turn-off that even though there's a .lovely new Ulta very near my Florida winter home, I've been there once and bought not one thing.  This season I didn't even step into the store and I have no intention of buying from them online -  just part of my not using my credit card too many diffewrent places.

That is funny but my ULTA has lots of girls on the floor where I live.  Macy's, however, is another story (you need a magnifying glass to find one).  I never shopped online when I was younger.  In fact, I started shopping online in my 60's instead of dealing with long lines in stores.  Once in a while I will go in stores but rarely.   When you are no longer working you don't have a need for clothes like you did when you worked.  Cat Very Happy

There isn't an Ulta or Sephora for miles where I live........... but I have noticed that in other stores, there are rarely any sales clerks on the floor.  If I need help, I have to go looking for someone.  Still, I don't like to shop online for various reasons and prefer to shop in the stores.

@Shanus You must live in my town! The only day that our store seems to have sales people on the floor is Saturday. But still only one cashier.

@Shanus, yes I am frustrated with the lack of sale people, lack of knowledge and slim selection of products. Several weeks ago I was in Ulta attempting to buy IT Cleansing Balm. The SA knew nothing about such a product. Then she said if it just came to QVC, it would be awhile before they get it. I told her that it's been out for about a year or more. She had never seen it. Yes, this is why we do online shopping.

Every time I go into a store to buy something I remember why I shop online. Went to Ulta to get  a round brush I had seen. They were out of it but was told, I could order it online. No kidding. I went back to get it again and they had it. I was buying it and some shampoo. I asked if I could get a sample of a Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C cleanser and I was told they don't give out samples at that store. I would have tried it then but I was on my lunch break from work. I didn't want to wash my face right then. I put all my stuff down that I was buying and left.  Now I hate when people act like their decision to stop shopping at a particular store is going to cause them any financial loss but it made me mad. I will continue to order from QVC. If I like something I'll keep it. If I don't I'll send it back. I can honesty see why stores with doors are closing.
