Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share my experience. Smiley Happy

I decided to purchase a gallon of Wen and give it a true trial. I color my hair with high/low lights (blond) - about every 6 weeks depending.

About three weeks ago I got a fresh color and started Wen (Fig). I wanted to see if it would help maintain my color. I use approximately 3 times per week, again depending. With traditional shampoo I would be seeing my gray skunk strip on my right temple by now - so far nothing. So, it seems to not be stripping my color.

I have a lot of fine to normal texture hair, very straight, a bit longer than shoulder length.

I can't say that I see much difference is the texture of my hair or that it is more moisturized, but perhaps that will come. I do leave a small bit in as a leave in conditioner.

To date - if I had to give a thumbs up or down, I'd have to give a thumbs up just because I still don't see gray. If all I get is the ability to extend my color and go longer in between and only having to get the minimum regrowth done - I will be saving money which will defray the cost of the Wen.

Hi Rooney! Welcome to Wen and thank you for the review!

I've been Wenning since September. Your hair will only get better!

I am hopeful, it has only been a few weeks. I really do have pretty good hair, even with the coloring, but I noticed that it is getting dryer - probably due to all those 50+ hormonal changes...

Fingers crossed that this will be well worth the money. Smiley Happy

Welcome, Rooney!! I think you will find WEN is well worth the money. I've been using it exclusively for 8 years. Never finished a bottle of shampoo of any brand before that.

I gave my teenage niece most of my pre-Wen hair products. She was in heaven for months!

WEN made a great difference on my hair. I'm glad is working for you. My new favorite now is Tea Tree (of course along with SAM and LAV).

Rooney, welcome to the Wen forum and welcome to Wen!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

That's great that with the FIG CC your hair color is staying the same and that you're not losing color.

You might want to try one of the Wen Styling Cremes (SC) as well.

--

In his June shows, Chaz mentioned that for the leave-in that, to soaking wet hair, you should always add the heaviest styling products first and finish with the lightest styling products.

In the demos I saw, he started with the CC. Sometimes he has said add 1/2 pump to a pump of CC, and other times he has said to add a dime sized amount of CC (I add a 1/2 pump of CC from a 16oz bottle). -- The CC puts moisture back into the hair.

Then he adds the Styling Creme (SC). -- Chaz has mentioned that the Styling Creme adds lightweight leave-in conditioner for moisture, polishing gloss for shine, light gel for hold, anti-frizz, and acts as a heat protectant.

The mousse is the last product added to the hair. -- The mousse has smarthold technology that really works for my thin/fine hair. The 613 mousse is the only mousse that also has the special shine ingredient that adds more shine to the hair.

--

I have thin/fine/porous shoulder length hair. Because all of the 613 products contain the amino acid complex (which adds stength to thin/fine hair), I do an all 613 leave in. On soaking wet hair (while I'm still in the shower):

* 1/2 pump 613 CC (from a 16oz. bottle), followed by

* 1/1 to 1 pump of 613 SC, followed by

* 3 pumps of 613 mousse

Then I gently squeeze dry my hair with an old 100% cotton t-shirt (Chaz's tip) because terry towels can rough up the hair cuticle.

Then I air dry my hair.
