NEW PRODUCT "TRY OUTS" REPORT

I've been trying some new products and comparing them to eachother to see which I prefer and those that don't make the cut for me:

DRMTLGY:

The Needle-ess Serum is not worth the money. Using it twice a day as directed, it did absolutely nothing. save your money.

However their SPFs are really good. The Tinted Universal one is a time saver...moisturizer, spf and enough coverage to get out the door for errands, etc. with just a bit of gloss for me. The untinted is not as moisturizing, but still a good spf, neither pill under makeup.

I've been using their Vit. C E & F which seems no different than Skinceuticals that hit a ridicuous $165!!!

Just received their FADER for dark spots....alternate w/ Retin A or Retinols at night....haven't used it long enough, but will report back if anyone's interested.

LAURA MERCIER:  My old standby Transluscent Setting Powder? the new Blurring Powder is superb and replacing the other. There are no shimmers, sparkles seen on the skin, but a definite "blur" of fine lines. I do go over my face with a damp sponge at the end of application as a last step. I sometimes dampen the sponge w/ water and for a long day of makeup, I dampen it w/ setting spray. Morphe has replaced my MAC.

I have been using Drmtlgy spf (no tint) and really like it. I also use their cleanser. Thanks for the other product reviews.

@Shanus

Have you noticed that the buzzword for 2023 (and part of 2022) is "blurring"?  I'm waiting for a blurring mascara!  I don't think I've watched a single beauty video where "blurring" wasn't a descriptive word for the products they are reviewing.

Re: NEW PRODUCT "TRY OUTS" REPORT

Blurring in makeup and skincare has been around for a few years; it's not new. Youtubers just are getting on the bandwagon until something else comes along.

I was confused about DRMTLGY and Dermalogica: originally thought they were the same thing. They're different companies and DRMTLGY is more expensive, beyond my budget.

I've read a lot of good things (and nothing bad that I can remember) about the new LM powder @Shanus

I loved the sample I got of Skinceticals Vitamin C/E Ferulic Acid but it's way overpriced so it's good to hear about the DRMTGLY version at almost half the price. I've read online reviews saying it's a perfect dupe.

@monicakm   I never believe youtubers unless and until I try or see products myself. Most of the time they get a percentage of sales or paid for mentioning a product. Yes, when one begins a subject and phrase, the rest pile on, but I only follow a few and do my own "testing". I want to give accurate advice and info.

Laura Mercier's Blurring Powder does actually leave a light "veil" over the face. I only use it in the T Zone and a bit to set concealer. It is lighterweight and less visible on the skin than her translucent powder.

@GenXmuse   I see no difference in the vitamin c serums except price. I've used it for awhile. Their customer service is wonderful, too. I rec'd a bottle that was a bit yellow when just opened...less effective the more yellow the serum becomes...When I called CS, they said not to return it and they apologized and sent another bottle of serum at no cost.
