NEVER TRIED HALO- IS IT WORTH IT? SHOULD I GET THE TSV?

I have never tried Halo but have heard rave reviews. Now, reading the boards today, it seems that many are passing on the TSV. For someone who has never tried Halo, does anyone have any opinions on whether this would be a good chance to try to product and get to try some other products at the same time for a minmal price point? Any ideas would be helpful. I would like to know what makes Halo such an amazing can't do without product. Thanks!
