@tends2dogs I haven't tried either but I find anything that foams tends to be a little more drying. HTH

Hi @tends2dogs! Hope your well!
I used to use the blue bottle Neutrogena and I think that was the foaming one. It was ok but better than anything else.
I think it's discontinued and they replaced it with " Neutrogena ultra gentle daily cleanser".
I have very sensitive skin. It's clear and very nice, no dryness at all. Give it a try. I love it!

Gel cleansers are usually formulated for dry/sensitive skin types. Otoh, foaming cleansers are generally better for oily or acne-prone skin.

If you're talking about the one below, I've used it for years. It foams slightly. This is the one Paula Begoun recommended as being the best drug store cleanser for the best price.

I prefer the gel - my skin doesn't feel dry at all after using it. I use the one for sensitive skin and it works extremely well. Walgreens carries it in their stores if you have one close, as do the other major pharmacies and discount stores. CeraVe also has an excellent gel facial cleanser too.

@tends2dogs I've used the Neutrogena Hydroboost gel. In fact, I'm just about done with my bottle.

I've used the Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser that is shown in the thread in the blue bottle, and it's very nice.
I just bought a bottle of the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser that's also shown in the thread but I haven't used it yet.
I have also used CeraVe's Foaming (Hydrating) Cleanser, and that's also very nice. In my opinion, that seems to be a bit more suited for when your skin might need something more moisturizing as we head into the colder months.
I have combination skin, and now that we're getting into the warmer months, some products that are more hydrating are a bit much for my oilier T-Zone.

I don't like foaming cleansers, always felt they were somewhat of a gimmick. I use an Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser, a non-foaming one. I'm always worried they are going to discontinue it since 1. I like it and that's enough to be the Kiss of Death, and 2. it can be hard for me to find.
