I had no idea that the Slatkins have a profoundly autistic son. Nor did I know what philanthropic efforts they have undertaken on behalf of autistic children in New York City. This was especially interesting to me because I have a 28 year old stepson who is profoundly autistic, non verbal, and will never live independently. This is a fascinating article about the Slatkins. I have a whole new respect for them.

@ms traditional wrote:her look is the look that people pay big bucks for at vintage Chanel, etc, shops these days. the Jackie Kennedy look is timeless - but it definitely is different than the casual, slouchy look i see everywhere. shall we happily embrace diversity and the right to individual choice ? yes, let's do.
Even JKO moved with the times, softening her look. (As did Grace K.)
I'd much rather see LS's look over some of the Q hosts any day, though, 60s retro is not my personal style.
One thing about the NEST fragrances, if anyone hasn't tried them yet - they are long-lasting and no synthetics to give you a headache.

She is alway poised but Her look is a little too character-ish for my taste and The hairstyle with the big flippies all over is kinda dumb looking.
That said, I wouldn't be caught wearing some trendy looks like the ripped jeans with holes. Some fashion trends are just sloppy and pointless.

i have always found the Slatkins interesting people - self-made business successes, fun, attractive - and love their products. i knew of their son's issues some time ago - maybe Harry had mentioned it or i read an article about the time he was big at QVC the last time. in this article it is moving to read of their daughter's bat mitzvah speech on the subject of dealing with autism and larger life lessons. all can benefit from her reminder to not "judge a book by its cover."

Some seem to be confusing classic with outdated. Classic styles are about appropriateness and still reflect current styles. They are not retro hairstyles and clothing worn back in 1960.
Take a shift dress of today and compare it to one worn 60 years ago...it will be different to a trained eye. That is a given.
Being classy has to do with a lot more than clothing and a hairstyle. It has to with appropriateness and making people around you comfortable. Donning a retro dress and 1960 flip is not a prerequisite of the definition of classy..or at least to me.

I think the OP is from December 2016 and seeing the Nest vendor recently, nothing has changed. She's obviously comfortable in her look.
I read that some women get "stuck" with how they looked in their happiest years. I checked out my Mom's photos in her 40's at my wedding and when my children were born (only grandchildren). She still wears the same Revlon Hot Coral lipcolor, turquoise shadow, obvious blush and teased bubble hair style. She'll be 89 on Sunday...Bless her heart.
She definitely does not look current. She's also the only one in her assisted living community who even bothers to wear makeup each day...overdone or not. At 89, she's not going to change now.

It's definitely not my look...but I love that she seems so comfortable in her own skin and chooses to dress and fix her hair in a way that makes her happy. Good for her!!! Life is short...we should all do things that bring us joy!

This woman is lovely and gives excellent presentations. I enjoy watching her. While I have not worn Nest myself, I bought the Night fragrance (or whatever it is called) for my sister last Chrsitmas and she is enjoying it very much. I appreciate a variety of vendor guests and wish QVC would expand offerings rather than days of the same people and brands over and over.
