Saw an interesting episode on Mystery Diagnosis about a young child swallowing a button battery which got lodged and burned a hole in the esophagus. Very serious consequences followed and was in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Think it may have been on Animal Planet or OWN last noc. It was reported when this type of battery is swallowed, the damage can start in as little as 2 hrs. The mother finally found the battery had come from a remote at home. Just wanted to share this info as it seems this is an incident waiting to happen again. The show also reported there is some sort of tingling sensation when the battery is in the mouth that the child prob likes. Sorry, I do not know the outcome of this, as I had dozed off. If someone happened to see this, please share. Wanted to put the info in this section...thought it might get more viewing.
