Cannot do matte lips.

The red I choose for me must have a pink-tone (blue-red like cherry red) within and be sheer.

Matte lipsticks accentuate lots of flaws.

Here are two pictures ...either one will do, but the one on the top i know I can get because that is DD’s!

I have several red lipsticks (real red) they are matt finish but not drying.  I got them all from QVC.  They stay on pretty good.

I mostly wear red lipstick.  I love it.

I never wear red lipstick. I feel it's too bold a color for me.

Angel Red and Cider Berry by Clinique are my favorite lipsticks.  Both are red but not over the top red and not blue based.  I can't wear blue base lipsticks.  Red lipstick is about all I wear.  I look awful in pink and pale lips make me look like a ghost.

@LTT1  I have never worn a red lipstick. Yes, sheer is critical and I agree with you about the blue tone....any orange and I'm sure of would be a candidate for a bordello!  I recently saw on 90 day fiance  a fiance wearing a blue/purple/red/pink color both on her nails as well as her lips.  She is blonde and fair, and the purpley color is obviously her signature color - it looks stunning on her.   I've been scouring the shelves for a similar color for a special occasion.  It is really hard to know what a "red" will look like without trying. I'm mostly a make-up minimalist, and my guess is even if I found the right shade I'm not so sure I would walk on the wild-side with red lips!

I like both of the colors.

I also prefer a blue based sheer red.

I had wanted to try red, since I have gone gray, everyone said wear red lipstick. I bought Lipsense Blu-red. It is a pretty TRUE red. I have never worn lipstick until just recently, so it's a bit much for me to get used to,lol..

I have worn RED and only RED lipsticks for 30 years!  Whether it was "on trend" or not, I always wear red lipsticks!  I have pale complexion and I just look ridiculous with pinks or browns or mauves. 

For my Christmas present last year, one of my sisters sent me 10, yes 10 tubes of different shades of red lipsticks!!   Loved them all !
