I began using WEN about two years ago, have used fig, pomegranate and a couple of other types including some seasonals. Here's what I've decided.

PROS

Makes my hair silky

Eases exzema on scalp

CONS

Expensive

Leaves my scalp dirty

No question my hair went from dry and frazzled to soft and lustrous. My hair stylist commented on the change without knowing that I had switched products. But the most annoying thing was every time I touched my scalp my hand smelled dirty. It grossed me out. This was within 24 hours of "cleansing" with WEN. I went through a lot of experimentation thinking I was using it wrong, trying different varieties, and forcing myself to wash my thick, shoulder-length hair every day. It literally takes 4-5 hours to dry unless I blow it.

Recently, I finally gave up on Wen as a cleanser and resumed using sulfate-free shampoo. My brand of choice is Rusk. It is more reasonably priced than Wen and has the advantage of actually CLEANING my hair and scalp.

What I DO like about Wen is that it is a great conditioner. My favorite type is the ginger and I hope they keep making it. I shampoo with Rusk first thing in the shower, then mix the Wen with a little of the Rusk conditioner to loosen it up and leave it in my hair for the duration so just about 10 minutes. My hair is still silky when all is done, and it is CLEAN and I can hold off shampooing again for 2 or 3 days.
