I could not take it anymore and ordered a wig the same color and style as my hair was prior to COVID from Paula Young online.
For me it's a no go. It looks rather messy, the hair is too shiny and I think it will probably feel rather uncomfortable if I was to wear it anymore than a hour or so.
I did not mention to my husband that I was ordering one and I did not feel comfortable "modeling" it for him either. It's going back in the box and all I can do is hope my beautician calls me soon. She is going to go through her appointment book and start booking those that have been without a hair cut the longest. I had my hair cut last about 1 week before the stay at home order started here in Illinois so I'm thinking it may be several more weeks before it gets cut. Oh well.........

I've been looking at wigs online and my worry is how shiny would they look. Really, unless they are human hair, I think they would not look real.
And the thought of wearing someone else's hair skeeves me out.. lol

I'm seeing more women than usual wearing hats. Sorry your wig didn't work out.

Generally speaking synthetic wigs do look shiny initially. I generally powder them with dry shampoo to dull the shine. It usually gets better after a washing.
Toni Brattin wigs look better than Paula Young. Check out these youtube videos of Jill LYnn Beauty Therapy reviewing Toni Brattin wigs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQfKQrGnITs&t=824s

Usually we have an amazing alarm system when something is wrong.
If you get rave reviews on something it's likely "comfort zone" which needs a nudge and we need to gently step forward.
"NO! ICK" is totally different.
Send it back.

Powder takes away shine of new wig. There is a product on Amazon looks like a powder puff on a stick.

Just go with your first instinct. If it's an Ugh, back it should go!

99% of wigs are obvious that they are wigs.
I can spot a wig a mile away.
The "hair" doesn't move like real, natural hair.
It's stiff and has a "plastic" look about it.
If you want quality, and a natural look, you need to spend hundreds of dollars for a good quality wig.
If you go cheap, it'll look cheap.
