I recently decided to lighten my hair. I had very dark brunette hair at one time, but it is about 80% white now. My hair grows very fast (exclusively using Wen for 2 years now, but it has always grown fast), and I was having to do root touch-ups every 2 weeks! Because my "natural" color is so very dark, I would look like a skunk! I thought if I could get my hair lighter without bleach, it would be great. What to do? Then it "hit" me; I used my Philosophy shower gel for my first cleanse (love that Fresh Cream). The BGT went on as the second cleanse, and I put a bit in as a leave-in. Hair looked great! I have now done this routine twice, and the results are very noticeable! Wow!!! Can't wait to get the old dye out, a new lighter color on, and go beck to using just the Wen.

I decided to stop coloring my hair when i started with Wen. I had bleached ends (foiled with bleach) and darker blond/light brown from roots to the top of my shoulders. I decided I liked the natural highlights from the sun but wanted it to blend a little better. I put lemon and honey on it and washed it out after a couple of hours. Nice summery shade on me and lightened just enough.

My daughter uses TT, and her natural highlights are amazing. She never knew how great her highlights were until she started using Wen. Shampoo was stripping the color of her untreated hair, and her highlights were barely noticeable! I guess I should just let my hair go all natural, but I keep it rather long (4-5 inches below my shoulders). I'm not quite ready for the "mostly salt" and pepper look just yet Wink

I'm confused? The Philosophy shower gel is bleaching your hair?

Sorry for the confusion. The Philosophy shower gel is doing what every "shampoo" does, it is fading the dye I have on my hair. I am trying to go lighter without bleaching. I did not really think Wen made THAT much difference in how long the dye has stayed "true." I use Wen because of how my scalp feels and how my hair looks {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} I have taken the dye issue for granted over the past two years. It's one of those weird things where you don't notice how well something is working until you use something else!
