I was finally able to make an appt today.  My girl called me back.  She's in Galveston on vaca!  What?  I told her she's been on vacation for the last 2 months or more! LOL  She won't be back till the 16th.  I'm way over due a cut but haven't been able to make it because of a knee problem.

I bought a set of hair cutting scissors from Amazon.  I might try to cut my own heavily textured/layered hair.  It's "just" hair.  It'll grow back

You can't wait 6 more days for a haircut?  Self-employed stylists have been getting $600/wk + the stimulist to vacation.  Many won't be eager to rush back to work.

Trust me, your stylist hasn't been on vacation the past two months! She's been sitting at home waiting, waiting, waiting to open her salon. Good for her taking a vacay.

Maybe it was something that she had planned a long time ago and had put a deposit down on.

wow.  it's hard to believe that someone who provides a service (to her loyal customers) would have the guts to take off at this time when so many ladies (and gents!) have been desperate for a much needed haircut!

@monicakm No one is going to suffer extreme comsequences having to wait a few extra days to get their hair cut.  Cut your own hair if you find it necessary to have it cut NOW but then when things don't look that good just don't expect her to rush you in to fix your mess!!

@Kachina624 , You have posted this a number of times and I have responded a number of times that this is not true everywhere.  My hair salon opened on May 15th.  I had an appointment on May 18th. At that point, self-employed hair stylists here had not received one penny in unemployment yet.  In Ohio the system wasn't set up to accept self-employed filings until mid-May.

At. this point in time I am happy for anyone who can do something fun.  I have learned the hard way that haircuts aren't nearly as big a deal as I thought they were.

Things are not the same now.  Important has a new meaning to me in many cases.

There's a youtube video of a woman who decided to cut her own hair using a bread knife.  Perhaps you could get some tips from her.
