I have had extremely oily skin since I was a teenager and I haven't been a teenager for a long time, my skin is still very oily (maybe that's why I'm not very wrinkled). It doesn't matter what products I try, I look good when I leave my place, but by the time I get to my destination I am shine city! I use sunscreen, primer, medium coverage foundation, and setting powder. Reapplying powder  only seems to make everything look worse. Sometimes I'll go product free because then I don't get oily.

@Jordan2  - What primer are you using?  Is it an oil controlling primer?

You should be using mattifying products.

Start using a cleansjng oil and avoid the oil free, drying type of skincare products.  Oil cuts oil.  Drying products encourage more oil production. It shouldn't take too long for your skin to normalize.

@Jordan2  - This You Tuber (50 yrs old) that I follow has very oily skin like yours.  She swears by this primer by L'Oreal.   She said it really controls the oil and she wouldn't be without it.   Just a suggestion.

@Jordan2  I'm with you, Jordan! I've had oily skin ever since I was 10 and I'm 34.  My makeup looks good for a few hours and then i have to touch it up later in the day. Primers  that help my makeup last longer are Rimmel Stay Matte primer, NYX Shine Killer and NYX Angel Veil.  Have you tried Mattify Ultra Finishing powder? Its a translucent powder from an indie brand called "Mattify Cosmetics" and it really helps cut down on shine as a setting powder.  I've come to realize that I'll most likely have oily skin forever, but the good side is that oily skin helps with anti-aging.  I'm sure you look beautiful with your makeup, and something that helps me mentally when my makeup gets shiny is I tell myself that I'm glowing rather than getting oily underneath my makeup.  I hope this helps Smiley Happy

On top of what oithers have suggested, maybe use blotting papers instead of powder to touch up.

Re: My Oily Skin

I was really liking LG Mattifying Spackle, but I think it is now discontinued, still have a big tube left.

I have had good results using Paula's Choice Shine Stopper and Origins Zero Oil.
