My Love/Hate Relationship with Wen.

Last year, I tried Wen again and stopped after a week because my hair just looked limp and lifeless. This morning, I used my Tea Tree CC and my hair looks so healthy. I wish I could maintain this look with Wen, but I just can't make it work long-term. Maybe I'll just put it in my rotation with Alterna and Paul Mitchel Clarifying shampoo.

I rotate between a couple of different WENs and a couple of Aveda shampoos/conditioners. I definitely feel my hair looks better when I don't use the same product too many times in a row.

Are you using it correctly? Wen has a learning curve.

If all else fails, you can also use it as a conditioner after shampoo. It works very well that way!

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Do you use the comb, I didn't and when I started it was a big difference..always use leave in's when your hair is sopping wet..but HonnyBrown is right, you can use it as a conditioner...

I would like to give this product a try and I read a lot about it on here but I just don't get it. I am going to order the OTO starter kit and try it in the Green Tea. Can anyone explain how to use it.

I believe that I am using it correctly. Even with regular shampoo, I have to rotate or my hair looks bad. I really do like the fact that I used Wen yesterday and didn't have to shampoo again this morning. I normally have to shampoo every day in order to have any type of hair style.

Re: My Love/Hate Relationship with Wen.

Oh my gosh! I am having the same exact problem. I was so impressed with the Bamboo Tea Tree Oil, 613 set. After four or five days without shampoo, I couldn't believe how disgusting my hair felt/looked. I have long, thick hair, and it just looked dirty after a couple of days with WEN.

I wanted to love this stuff because it smells so good, but NO WAY. I have been doing exactly what you ladies have suggested, I use as a conditioner, and rinse out. I use the little bottle of spray the set came with to help comb out the tangles.

I guess WEN works for some of us, but not for others. Hey, it was worth a try. NO regrets.

I'm sorry you feel WEN didn't work for you as a cleanser. But, honestly, I use WEN and can't go 4-5 days without cleansing. Even when I was using shampoo, I couldn't go that long. WEN isn't supposed to keep your hair clean forever - hair gets dirty the same as when you use shampoo.

I'm glad it works for you as a conditioner.

Welcome to WEN!! I'm glad you took the plunge. The OTO kit is a great place to start.

It's not really difficult, just different than shampoo. It doesn't suds up like shampoo, so you need to use more to coat your hair to clean it - add water until you get a soft frothiness, rinse well. Repeat, but this time leave it in for the rest of your shower, then rinse well. It's the same as shampoo - cleanse, rinse, condition, rinse - you're just using one product for both steps. Then, while in the shower, add back a little bit of the cleansing conditioner (pea size to quarter size depending on the length of your hair) and a small amount of the styling creme back into soaking wet hair and twist and scrunch in well. Then blot your hair dry and style.

BTW, there's a ton of information in the booklet you will get with your set and there's videos about the products here on QVC and also on the chazdean website.

I agree Okiebug, I cleanse everyday, I love it and look fwd to it, and I don't believe I use anymore than I did with reg shampoo/conditioner....using as a conditioner I am sure is still helpful...
