I had my usual every 4 month salon appointment today after work.  I was in somewhat of a hair rut, wearing the same color for a while (medium brown with highlights). Also, it's been shoulder length for a long time and I needed to push the refresh button.

I trust my salon tech so here's what we did.  Went for a medium brown/red - what I would say is a medium mahogany with smooth caramel highlights around my face.  She cut  5 inches off  and boy did my waves love that!  She also gave me more layers and jeeze I have a new head.  It's youthful and uplifting and I think I've moved past longer hair. It was kind of dragging me down.

Husband NEVER knows when I go to get my hairs done but he noticed today 😉

I love it

@bmorechick  I'm glad you posted and shared your new hairdo. I am in a rut with my hair with having the same length for so long, you just inspired me to go get a new hairstyle and very soon. Enjoy sporting your fabulous new style.

@happilyretiredgirl   The color was a leap for me but my stylist said you can definitely carry it off. I think she was more excited than me 😆

I hope you find a style you like...keep us posted!

@bmorechick - I'm right there ...transformation really took me by surprise. No more long hair for me. Fresh updated style amazing natural no hairdryer that's how you know stylist knows what he or she is doing.

@San Antonio Gal   Nah, this is the extent of my social media...no public pictures.  I have told all my adult children don't you ever post my picture on any of your social media pages... my employee ID and drivers license is the extent of my face "out there"

@bmorechick Your new 'do sounds beautiful!

While I haven't colored for years, my hair is still a mix of my natural dark brown and silver (mostly silver). A year ago, I went from a chin-length bob (wore it in some version of that for 20+ years) to not-quite-pixie length. I love it! It's so much easier...I went from every day washing/blow drying to washing 3 times a week and air drying. The cut really brought out my natural waves, and I can just run my fingers or a wide-tooth comb through it to style.

I find it to be a more "youthful" look for me...I, too, felt like the longer length was dragging my face down. I get tons of compliments!

Your color sounds lovely!! So very fall-ish. And nice to have a stylist that you trust to do all that too.

@bmorechick  -  Some folks are able to post their hair without showing their faces.  That's all I was asking.  I understand if you don't want to show it.
