My 1st post, plz help Ladies? Foundation Recommendations needed badly!

Hello fellow beauties! I've been on a mission for the last 2 years to find a HG foundation but not much luck. I like a med to full coverage, have pretty decent 40 yr old skin (thanks to Philosophy & my trusty Clarisonic..lol) but I have broken capillaries, combo skin, some large pores & just started getting some fine lines around eyes & corners of mouth. I'm Caucasian with medium brown hair & green eyes, however I tan VERY well & all year long so I'm in the "Tan" & sometimes even "Rich/Deep" shades (Similiar to Jessica Alba/Beyoncé tones). I've tried powders, creams, liquids,BB's & don't really prefer a certain type as long as I can get nice results. I've tried everything from Covergirl,Loreal,Physicians Formula,Mally's Ultimate Performance liquid (but not any of her others yet),LG's B&B,Bare Minerals & recently IT Celebration Foundation. I really liked the IT a lot, but it was waaay too light, even in the "Rich" shade..ugh! I just purchased the IT Cosmetics "Beautiful You" set on EZ pay after watching the on-air presentation that has the super sized Bye Bye Undereye concealer (read great reviews 1st) it was described as being a foundation too (never tried) Your thoughts on this? The IT Rep said the "Rich" in this product is a darker tone than the Celebration Foundation (Let's hope!). What do you all use & really love or your go-to foundation? What gives good coverage without looking too cakey? And what brands do you think run true-to-color & vice versa? I've spent a TON of $ (like most of us on here have) looking for my HG foundation but they're either too light, too drying, too greasy, don't last an hour,or don't cover. ANY help/suggestions/tips would be GREATLY appreciated (I've never tried any Finishing Powders, only Mally's Evercolor Poreless Flawless in clear)! I'm so tired of paying the outrageous return shipping fee's Smiley Sad Please Help?

I have had very good luck with Bourjois foundations. My skin sounds a lot like yours, except not dark - more of a light medium. My favorite is the Perfect 123. Bourjois is available on asos.com and lifeandlooks.com. I also recomment watcing Lisa Eldridge's video series on choosing the right foundation. That being said, the first thing she says is not to buy new foundation on line.

""Jane Iredale's"" pressed powder foundation. It covers well and stays all day. I have used it for years. I do use her brush ""the Handi"".

I could write a book on this, one of my favorite subjects.

I don't have your coloring at all so hard to let you know if these run true to color in darker tones. Also, not sure how dark the range is, but if I list it I am recommending it to mostly meet your other criteria.

These are not too heavy feeling, offer medium (buildable to full) or full. Considering how many foundations you've used, you may be expecting too much from one product. Consider a primer, concealer, finishing powder and a finishing spray or some combination. Long lasting foundations, sounds like you want that attribute, can be more drying. You may need to use a moisturizing primer. Yes, it is expensive to experiment so I always shop at stores with great return policies. Also, try different applications methods - fingers, natural bristle brush, synthetic bristle brush, Beauty Blender sponge.

Sephora gives free samples plus they have a new technology that color matches you to foundations they carry that match you. Then you can get samples of 3 or 4 of them. Also, MAC and Clinique have a lot of formulas, I would say worth a visit to their counters.

Lancome Teint Idole Ulta 24H

Chanel Perfection Lumiere

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Mac Studio Skin (powder foundation)

Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation

Guerlain Tenue De Perfection

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau (buildable to full, beautiful foundation!)

I love the Guerlains on their own but when I mix them 50/50, for me it is perfection on steroids. There is not a foundation on earth can will stay on my very oily, broken capillary nose more than 3 or 4 hours. I've tried dozens of concealers. The only thing that works for me is Dermablend Cover Creme. Lots of trial and error, lots of recommendations, finally found this and it works for me. I can't find a primer that makes me look poreless but IT Bye Bye Pores loose powder very lightly dusted on and then swept with a big brush is magic for me.

Whenever I see an Estee Lauder recommendation here, it's always Double-Wear. I sampled several shades for a few days. Not only couldn't I find the right shade, but also I found the formula not to my liking -- a bit too heavy.

But I love and have been using for several months no EL Resilience Lift Extreme liquid foundation with SPF 15.. I found a perfect color match, and the formula is outstanding. It's labeled as "radiant," but I would say that it's a satin finish. It's fragrance-free and gets a "Best" rating from Beautypedia.

I recently purchased Laura Mercier's Crème Smooth Foundation in a jar. Light to medium coverage, slightly matte & flawless finish. It does not look like you are wearing foundation. Comes in different undertone shades.
