I have thinning hair and always used Nick Chavez Caviar Mousse with great results. It seems he has discontinued another great product which upsets me because I cannot find anything similar to it.

I have tried Living Proof Full and while it thickens my hair, it seems to leave a film that I don't like. Wondering if anyone can offer some suggestions for a good mousse for thin, fine hair?

Any help, greatly appreciated!!

Not Your Mother's Pump for Joy Thickening Hair Lifter. I have WEN Mousse, too. I use it sometimes, but have mixed feelings about it.

I've tried living proof and did not like it for the same reason. The product I've found that gives my hair body and volume is not a mousse. It's the Wen Finishing Treatment Creme - not used as directed. It's supposed to go on your hair after styling, but I found that to leave my hair sticky. I add a small amount to my hair after washing, when it's still wet. Love it. A332912.

Can anyone comment on the Wen mousse - haven't tried it yet.

I have the WEN Mousses (SAM, Pom, and 613). For me, they're good for that first day, if I'm doing a bouncy curl style with hot rollers. Hair looks great and sometimes I can do a little misting of RTM the following day and make it work. The thing I don't like about the WEN Mousse is that if I'm only doing a simple style - round brush blow dry, heated brush or flat iron to do the ends - it seems my hair gets dirty faster.

For a GREAT inexpensive mousse, try Tresemme Tres Mousse Extra hold. My hair isn't thin but it's baby soft and curly and this mousse gives me great volume and texture but it doesn't weigh my hair down.

The smell doesn't bother you? I find I have issues with Tresemme's staple fragrance.

I like Bumble and Bumbles. Very light and is for thin fine hair. I recently tried the Not Your Mothers Whip IT Up Mousse as a cheaper alternative to the B&B and its pretty good also.

For my baby-fine wavy hair, and the fact that mousses can be drying, I've been using the the following for years...

I buy mine them at Amazon.com, and others places; just search Google.

Product Details

Aussie "Catch the Wave" Mousse + Leave-In Conditioner, flexible hold

AND/OR

Aussie "Sprunch" Mousse + Leave-In Conditioner

I am VERY sensitive to smells and although I don't love the smell, I find that it dissipates very quickly.
