For anyone who has lost a mother, there is a book called Motherless Daughters that is a very valuable read. My mother died when I was eleven years old and not a day goes by that I don't think about her and I wonder what my life would've been like had she been in it.

I've never had a mother-figure in my life - no step-mother, aunt, grandmother, or mother-in-law. Only 3 sisters with whom I shared this loss.

Reading this book by Hope Edelman helped me to see that what I was experiencing was normal, even if it didn't feel that way.
