Mayday! Mayday! Lotion is trapped!

The jar containing my absolute favorite, pricey moisturizer won't open. I think I may have scr*wed the lid on wrong the last time I used it, and now it just won't budge a centimeter. The lid is too big to get nutcrackers or a pair of pliers around it.

Does anyone have a trick for fixing a busted jar? Or is my lotion trapped forever?
