Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara

For those of you who use or have used the Maybelline Lash Discovery mascara, would you mind describing the consistency of the product?  I ask because I recently purchased a tube, and the mascara looks like velvet on the wand -- it has a very dry consistency.  Is it supposed to be like that or should it be more creamy in texture?

It should not be dry.  I have not used in a while but I remember it being more wet on the wand.
