[ Edited ]
Silver Hair Sisters! Tried Shimmer Lights shampoo in the past with no results. Yesterday after my hairstylist gave me wonderful!! New style! Showed Matrix So Silver Shampoo! Skeptical about my past experiences, Thought I can always return. My grey isn't yellow. Happy to report! Matrix lives up to wonderful reviews online. Very pleased! Plan only using once a week or when I think hair needs it. On the subject of hair, Tired of shoulder length, Felt time for change. Love!! New version of classic bob! Fresh style. Nick Chavez volume system wonderful! **VELVET MESQUITE RESTORING SPRAY** My favorite treatment!! Leave in use daily refresh my hair. Never weighs hair down nor builds up. Duo set..That's a good thing!!! 💁

I'm in the middle of my silver hair transition and I've been researching the "purple" shampoos in anticipation of using one when my transition is complete. I have short hair and my hairdresser thinks I'll be completely silver/gray in another 4 months. So I'll definitely be trying the Matrix shampoo then.

Matrix So Silver Shampoo-Brighten my hair. That's what I wanted. This isn't for daily use. Remember use conditioner. Love my grey! Think! No one will have your color. Nature's highlights! My stylist loves my grey. Congratulations!! I never regret my decision.

@Sweet_Serenity  Thank you for the encouragement and advice.  I'm just tired of coloring my hair!  As I'm transitioning, sometimes I'm excited about it and other times I'm thinking - I don't know about this!  But I'm determined to see what I've got!

When I decided 5 yrs ago stop dying my hair, Chose very short pixie. For me it was the right choice, Depends on preference. Check out- YouTube TwominuteTips-Sharon Makeup artist from Canada offers tips and her experience. Monique Parent- 50 actress Hollywood. Lives close to where I used to. Her channel growing quickly!! She shares her experience going grey. Adore her! Think you will find helpful and inspiring. Realize society pressures women feel they must color, That's changing. Remember you can always color. That's what I told myself. Why put restrictions on yourself? Same growing my hair long, Yesterday changed to chin length. Goodluck!

Thank you @Sweet_Serenity ~~ I'll check out the Matrix shampoo.

After using Jhirmack Silver for years, I bought Clairol Shimmer Lights last month for a change.  And what a change!!!  The first time I used it, my hair turned purple.  Not a good look!  It took 3 washings to get all the purple out -- I was going to buy another bottle of Jhirmack.  I'll look for the Matrix So Silver ASAP.

I love my silver gray hair -- which is now turning pure white on top and around my face.  I've had perfect strangers ask me where I get my hair colored.  Tee Hee.   I had to experiment with new colors of lipstick, blush, eye liner, etc., to get the face and hair on the same page.  That was fun!  I haven't experimented with makeup for decades.

@Sweet_Serenity  Yes - my hairdresser said the same thing - I can always color if I absolutely hate it but I'm giving it a fair chance and think it will be fine. I have watched Monique Parent and I agree she is great. A few of my friends have tried to discourage me so I needed her inspiration. I think not having to color is freeing!

Never understood friends doing that. Monique Parent, Imo wears to much makeup. Totally understand theater eye. Not for everyday. I'm thinking possibly only in her videos. Lighter hand softer look. That's my opinion. By the way! Love your name and avatar!!💁

I use a generic one from Sally's Beauty Supply called Shimmer Lights.  It's a purple shampoo made to keep hair from yellowing.

I use it once a week and it does a good job.

Ive been using,  as recommended by a poster,  Redken Shine Flash 02, a hair spray.   A couple of tiny spritzes does the trick in making my hair look like strands of polished sterling silver.
