Mascara

Okay, was seriously thinking of starting to use mascara because my eyes just do not pop like they used to. I had some clear stuff here and used it for a couple of days, just to practice application....but after reading the topic about your least favorite part of beauty, I may have to reconsider, considering a lot of people's least favorite thing is eye makeup cleansing.
Is it really that big of a chore? Ugh...I don't want to even add anything that will make too much of a difference with washing my face at night. As it is now, I really don't even have to take much time in that area...I use my Clarisonic on my face and then wipe across my eyes with a washcloth after wiping the soap off of my face. Is this water-proof mascara people are using , or is it all mascara? I have absolutely no experience with mascara, so I would really like to know. Thanks!
