The bathroom is as much yours as his. If you want to put a makeup case on the counter you should be able to. Do you have more than be bathroom?

I keep my stash in an old file cabinet.   Not very "decorative"...but at least, it's not gathering dust...

I keep what I have in the drawers in the vanity in the bathroom. I don't like clutter so not much on the vanity top except electric toothbrush, face wash, hand wash, hand lotion, hair brush, lip balm.

What a wonderful gift @Trinity11! I'll bet yours is beautiful! I had always wanted one too, since I was a little girl and played at my grandmother's. I inherited hers. It is in our bedroom.

But I have to have a sink when I do my makeup, so that happens in the bathroom. I have this by Sorbus. I also have some soft cosmetic cases.

@GenXmuse  I never said bathroom I said bedroom, he wants everthing off the counters, I am not sure why he is suddently such a clean freak.

@I am still oxox All of my makeup, brushes, tweezers, nail file, clippers, manicure scissors, small Panasonic trimmer and a few other things fit in this, with room to spare. I keep in the cabinet under my bathroom sink.

I don't have a lot of makeup. I keep what I have in a small clear organizer similar to what some others have posted. Mine is stored on a shelf in the bathroom closet. I grab my container and put it on my bathroom counter when using the products. I can easily clean and wipe out the compartments when needed.

We have both been keeping things off the countertops. If you are like us,we would never use most of the accumulated things--so out they went. It is easier to clean and seems more restful.

Maybe your husband is feeling a little frustrated and closed in and needs to see some clean space.  It clearly bothers him, so why not try to accomodate and see what happens. You might like it too. Change is good for us.

Its all working out the make up will go in a new case in a high dresser so I do not have to bend
