I am going to have a brown spot or two removed.... and ask a few questions about filler for just around my mouth area. Not sure about doing that... but will see what the DR thinks and says..
Going to also have my very first skin check. I guess that is good for us Boomers who never used sunscreen as children.

@SeaMaiden IPL (later) is great for removing brown spots. I have it done every Fall if needed.
I also have filler around the mouth. Be careful that they don’t make lips too puffy. ( I went to a plastic Surgeon once when I didn’t want to drive further to my Specialist and my lips were so puffy I couldn’t drink out of a glass).
YES!!the sunscreen is a must!

@1Snickers ThankYOU for you input. I never considered doing my lips. Just the nasolabial folds wher there is a little drooping.

Good luck with your spot removal @SeaMaiden . I had that done with two stubborn spots I had a while back. I just could not get rid of them any other way so I finally had a derm remove them and I was happy as a lark after that!
The last time I was at my derm's office, I had asked about filling in some lip lines above and below my lips and also filler in my lips, too. The scleroderma disease has given me smoker's lines and shrinking lips. After she told me how much it was going to cost me, I told her I would have to think about it...LOL! So she handed me a brochure with all the filler info, went home and I have not looked at it since. It's just too expensive for me right now.

@SilleeMee Hello! I know that the filler will be close to $1000.😮How much did the spot removal cost may I ask? And after they did the procedure was your skin irritated and red etc?

The spot removal was done with a laser, different from IPL, and it cost me $250. Afterwards I was red and the spot was still there but it faded slowly over time which was several months before it was completely gone, never to return.

Another thing @SeaMaiden . The line fillers would last only about a year. If I got them then I would probably love it so much and then I would have to start robbing banks to keep paying for them...lol!

@SilleeMee They have a newer filler that lasts 5 years.... called Bellafill... it is more permanent. That saying.....
I do not want to get on the roller coaster of Continuous fillers and shots. I feel I have a good outlook on aging...... and I take good care of my skin. Getting things tweaked is not something I would normally do. I am by no means concerned about being perfect as I am not. So this consultation will just be for my curiosity and hopefully just dealing with the sunspot on my cheek. I can cover it pretty good with concealer.....but I know it is there and it just bugs me!

@SeaMaiden I forgot to mention that in those folds when enjected will probably show a blue cast.(almost like a bruise). I have tried Many fillers and a fantastic Dr does good work but he said the filler showing is a problem. They keep getting new stuff.
My friend has the same blue cast as do others who have had it done elsewhere.
It is all very expensive but sometimes they run specials.

A blue cast? That is not good! So you have cover it upwith makeup? Maybe a few lines are better than a blue cast?
