They don't just have a sealing benefit, but helps to carry nutrients to the skin cells. (Thus they are called 'carrier oils.')

Moreover, they themselves contain vitamins & minerals, (EFAs), and so are nourishing to the skin.

I'm cheap. I use plain almond oil.

Thank you Harpa for answering my question. Not all are considered carrier oils right? Do you know if Paula's choice oil blend is a good one for the above benefit you mentioned? I am struggling with dry skin and hoping that this may help. I tried Josie's argan oil but was too thick and greasy for my day time routine{#emotions_dlg.sad}

You are welcome,, JeanCA. I only briefly looked at the ingredients in the PC oil earlier this a.m. Argan is in there, but I think you will find that it will have a different consistency than straight up argan.

I can't say I, myself am particularly fond of composite oils. I would rather use them separately, or a select few at the most. But as you've read others who have used this particular one, they seem to like it.

It does seem that the oils in this product were specifically picked for their separate nourishing benefits, particularly beneficial on skin; i.e., the jojoba, being close to the skin's own sebum, cranberry & argan for vitamin E, and I forget what all was in there.

You can always use it on your cuticles and also your hair as an overnight or before wash treatment.

I like this website (Garden of Wisdom) for purchase, but also for a ton of information about the different oils: carrier oils

eta: Oh, you did ask about all being carrier oils. There are also essential oils, but their use and properties are totally different. I don't think Paula is one to use essential oils.

I seriously love this stuff. I don't add products to my routine very often. But since I've been using this oil mix, I have definitely noticed an improvement in the texture and look of my skin. Great stuff, and I'm glad it's working for you as well, Crisso.

My thanks again to HappyDaze (and BellaCarro).

You are welcome, SuzyQ! I seriously love it too and I know how you don't really change up your routine so to get you to try something new takes alot. I am glad it is working so well for you!

I haven't tried Paula's products -- yet! This oil sounds interesting. Can someone tell me how it compares to JM argan oil - as far as texture, scent? I have been thinking about switching to a product that contains other oils or ingredients, rather than just the argan oil. I have dry, sensitive skin and am looking for hydration and radiance. Worth trying for my concerns???Also, is it best to use it alone or mix it with a moisturizer, etc.? Can someone recommend a good serum for dry skin from Paula's Choice?

Thanks! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

There is no scent. It is not a single-source oil, but a blend of non-fragrant plant-based oils with skin replenishing ingredients. I mix it with my serum for day before applying my spf day lotion. At night I mix it with my moisturizer. I use the skin recovery line. This has helped with severe winter weather irritation and keeping my roseaca calm in the bitter cold. I apply it after my rosacea RX.

I use Olay Regenerist fragrance-free serum, which Paula's Choice highly recommends. I buy the extra-large size at Costco, but Target also carries a dupe.

I was previously rotating a series of about six different oils. Then I narrowed it primarily to Argan and Marula.

The PC oil blend is lighter and absorbs more easily. It has no scent at all. I also like that it contains some other beneficial ingredients.

I put two drops in the palm of my hand and lightly press it on my face after my moisturizer, concentrating more around the eyes and cheeks but also patting some on my lips, neck, and chest. Any leftover goes on the end of my hair. I don't mix it with anything, but you certainly can.

It is advertised for dry/very dry skin and claims to be good for those with rosacea and/or sensitive skin. It also claims to be good for redness and inflammation. I think that even a person with combo or normal skin might give it a trial run as well.

I have had zero adverse effects. I do think that after using it for a few weeks, my skin seems to have an improved texture and is better hydrated. I see a change for the better, and it's only one of two changes I've made in my routine -- the other is that I am using OneLoveOrganics Vit B Active Moisture Cleansing Oil and Makeup Remover at night.
