@molly and me   For every day, I use one coat...sometimes wiping the want lightly on a kleenex to get a more natural look. Since I do tightline which makes the lashes look thicker/darker that mascara application works well for me.

Wiping on a tissue???

Don't you get fibers on your brush though?

@RespectLife

I see a lot of make-up artists do that and I do too if the mascara looks 'clumpy on the brush.

Interesting @KingstonMom   @Shanus

I buy cheap tissues...I would worry about snagging a fiber that would stick to my lashes!

I keep an empty tube.  If the brush looks clumply, I insert it to get the clumps off.

That works for me.

@monicakm I never really understood what people meant by a "coat".

If it means letting the mascara dry between applications, I never do that. It doesn't look nice.

I just apply & apply until all of my lashes are black.

Sometimes I do the top & then the bottom of the lashes (On the top lashes only.) to get them really dramatic.

I love mascara.

     I have to use more than one coat most of the time.  I have barely there lashes.  I need to start using a primer.  I used to use Lancome's primer , Cils Booster+ it worked well.

I think it depends on what kind of mascara you use. Are use and Estee Lauter mascara that is very lengthening and thickening. I can't imagine doing more than one coat, it would be very clumpy and thick looking. There's just no need

What are you using to tightline? Everytime I try, I end up with it smudging and a mess. I like the look, just can't seem to find the right liner. Even the waterproof does this.

@Dusty1

"Lips and lashes" has been my signature look for decades.  Your eyes and mouth are looked at the most by others when talking to them.  I used to use a lot of mascara to emphasize my long lashes that at one time nearly reached my brows.  Now...not so much Smiley Sad  Now I wear false lashes and don't see myself ever going back to mascara.  The possibilities are endless.

@SandyAndy

Try applying your liner before mascara and wiggle the pencils between your lashes to make them look thicker.  If you're into wings, you can even use the side of your finger to "wipe" your liner up and out at the outside corner to make a wing.  I've never done this.  I've seen it a few times on YT.

I'm fair and use a black brown mascara on top lashes only. I swipe and wriggle the wand a few times until all my lashes are covered, but I don't reapply after the lashes are dry. I like to separate my lashes with a fine tooth metal comb before they dry. Great tool, but watch out the teeth are sharp. Fortunately, I've only poked myself once.
