Influencers are usually sponsored or product driven. Makeup artists are trained in the field. I follow the MUAs even if they're younger. In fact, they all have techniques, ideas that can be adapted to any age. Makeup that you enjoy wearing have sites with artists' videos w/ helpful info. The following is my YouTube list:
Lisa Eldridge
Charlotte Tilbury
Bobbi Brown
Laura Mercier
Pat McGrath
Mario Dedivanovic
Sir John B (worked under Pat McGrath)
Charlie Green
Jacklyn Hill
Michelle Phan
Sam & Nick Chapman (aka Pixiwoo)...founded Real
Techniques Brushes and sponges
Amy Conway (Bobbi Brown pro)
Lisa J (originally MAC trained)
Wayne Goss
Shelby Wilson (started w/ Bare Minerals)

Not my thing. It's true, they are all pushing products and it's impossible for me to get the same results at home. I don't even care about influencers, they are nobodies paid to hype a product. The makeup professionals who create the trends and products are interesting to look at when I'm bored and playing on my computer. I just don't get anything I can use on myself.

@chrystaltree If thread is of no interest, why did you reply? Just curious.

I don't discount someone because they are influencer versus
makeup artists or visa versa.
Influencers can still have valuable tips/tricks
-and-
Makeup Artists can still heavily promote a sponsored line.
*Even bough I don't wear much makeup, I still appreciate the skill/talent.
