M.Asam Water Cream

Has anyone tried this cream?  (m. asam water cream).  It has great reviews on hsn.  I ordered it because I wanted to find something to help with hydration without oil, without dimethicone, without anything that I think could react on my lately very reactive skin.  I've really been looking forward to it, and just got my package, opened the jar, and it has a very strong scent! Not pleasant either - like black licorice mixed with something bitter and maybe mixed with a light weird floral undertone.  Anway ......... looking to see if anyone has used this and if so, what did you think? soothing?  did yours have a strong scent?  Did your skin like it? Any comments would be appreciated.
