Re: Looking for drugstore mascara recommendations

I have tried so many and I always go back to Cover GIrl!!  It just works for me.  This brand just easily washes off better than any.  I have 2 tubes of Josie's mascara which I like BUT it does NOT come off even with Purity!  I will finish using them then back to my Cover Girl!

Hi agree with Kabella, while duping Thrive mascara Essence brand came up, bought at Ulta. Works well for my 58 yr old lashes. Leaves a nice feathery luscious coat and under $5. They have many mascaras the one I tried is the reddish tube “lashes of the day”. You can always return it.

Re: Looking for drugstore mascara recommendations

I posted a very similar thread and followed a suggestion to try Covergirl Professional Remarkable mascara. It’s very natural looking, but lengthens and doesn’t flake or smudge(I do top lashes only). It may be better than all the previous ones I liked that were discontinued.

Re: Looking for drugstore mascara recommendations

I'm done buying the higher end brand mascaras and was looking for a drugstore alternative.

I've been using L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara for the past few months. Took a chance and I'm glad that I did. No clumps or flaking and it's easily removed. I always use washable - never waterproof.

Looking for recommendations for a good drugstore mascara that lengthens and thickens but doesn't flake.  I tried Loreal Telescopic mascara which worked well however I could  not get the brush back into the container.  They need to redo that one.  Thanks.

@LuvmyLab   I go back and forth between L'Oreal Voluminous and L'Oreal Paradise...both not waterproof. I also use Josie's when available in the sets which is a great value and very moisturizing for the lashes.

Clumping? I wipe the wand on a tissue and then apply 2 thin coats. Mascara is usually too thick out of the tube. I also try to do both eyes without dipping in or pumping wand into tube. That adds air into the tube and thickens it twice as fast which makes for more clumps.

Almay in the purplish pink tube. Lash thickening mascara. The best!

@mare54, I recently bought this and absolutely love it.

I am old school when it comes to my wands.  I hate those hard plastic bristles so many are using now with their mascaras.  This Almay mascara has the old fashioned type wand.  It doesn't flake and it's easy to remove.  It comes right off with my face cleanser.

CoverGirl LashBlast in the orange tube...I've used it for years. I use it on top lashes only, and it stays til I take it off. Washes off easily with my Cetaphil cleanser. I use the non-waterproof, but I once bought waterproof by mistake, and it actually washed off pretty easily, too!

Yes to Maybelline, but I've been using ELF for the past couple of years, and love it.

It comes in a number of formulas and brush styles, but I use the "Length and Volume" waterproof. And at only 2 bucks, it's a steal. (I've also gotten their makeup brushes, eiter $1 or $2, depending on type). ELF products are available at most drugstores, but I get mine at Wegmans lol.
