Looking for an eyeshadow palette for everyday use

I would like to buy an eyeshadow palette that I can use everyday for a natural look. I have blue eyes. I tried the Urban Decay Naked palette and thought there were too many shimmery shadows. I was also looking at the Bobbi Brown tortoiseshell Sand collection.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. And also wondering, since I'm over 40, should I stick with matte eyeshadows or is some shimmer ok?
