ITA with what you both said. I don't know why some actresses feel the need to do this. Everyone has their own unique look that they are recognized for - she just lost hers - what a shame!

Someone said in another thread in VP, and I agreed, that perhaps her eyelids were interfering a bit with her vision. I know she is young for that, but they were very heavy and squinty before. Perhaps she wanted to see better. She had the kind of eyelids that were not going to age well. I can say that because mine were the same.
The lips look pouty but she's always had a beestung look IMO. I think the dark lipstick in the other picture "thins out" the look of the upper lip.
I also think the unmade brows make a difference. They are groomed in the other picture.
Anyway, I think she still looks very pretty and that she does not need anything else.

I don't think it's her.

She looks like a completely different person to me. The picture on the right WAS taken 15 years ago, but IMO she has lost the uniquely beautiful look she once had.
She still does that same lip thing. I don't know how to put them side-by-side, but compare the "old" picture on the left below to the new picture on the left above. Her lips are the same.

She's had a lot of work done, she doesn't look like her former self. But she doesn't look bad at all. It's not a fake, plastic, lopsided look. She was never any great beauty, she had a pretty "girl next door" look. I hope she's happy with her new look. But she lot her uniqueness, now she looks exactly like any other well to do middle aged woman with a bucket load of money. Same blond dye job, same hair cut, same "no make up" makeup.

After looking again-she lost her high very distinguished cheekbones!!!!!

I think this Slate piece sums it up very well:
"Character actresses like Melissa Leo can grow into great careers later in life, playing hard, complicated broads, but our baby-faced ingénues are specifically prized for their youth; it's nearly impossible for them to "get better" with age. (See also: Meg Ryan.) Zellweger's last critical hit came out in 2005. Hollywood discarded her a long time ago. So now, she’s returned looking nothing like the old Renée Zellweger—you know, the actress nobody wanted to look at anymore. Can you blame her?
When 81-year-old Kim Novak took the stage at this year’s Academy Awards, viewers harassed her for the plastic surgery that had turned her once-beautiful face into a poorly-constructed mask. To hammer home the point, commentators compared photographs of Novak in 2014 to glamour shots she took in the 1950s. They did not, of course, compare her to the faces of other, 'normal' 81-year-old women. You don’t see many of those on screen. Plastic surgery is fake. So is the Hollywood fantasy where women over 40 just don't exist."

I read she only did her eyes, but how can she look this different with just having cosmetic surgery on her eyes. She is a great actress and has dated a lot of gorgeous hollywood guys.
