People lie about a million things daily. I don't care. It doesn't affect me and my life. If it does affect me and my life there's a tap on my shoulder that I might have an issue I need to deal with. I don't think lying in response to a rude, prying question is the slightest bit objectionable. If you ask me a deeply personal question and I lie to you about the answer shame on you for being so nosy about something that's none of your business in the first place. I don't owe anyone the truth, it's my business and has nothing to do with anyone but me and any amount of rationalizing and justification of "needing" or wanting to know for the sake of honesty is BS to me. Just because one person blabs their business doesn't mean we all have to. I think this whole thing is more about why people feel they have the right to ask others for such personal information. Stop asking these questions. It's crude and you don't need to know. I hate the whole tmi society now. If you don't spill your guts when asked them people say you're ashamed or whatever. Maybe you just don't want to share with strangers. This woman seems like a private person. She's never been involved in any real scandals or gossipy situations. Even her divorce was pretty hush hush. Why would she be open about her life now when she never was before?
MissButtercup-
I feel bad for RZ when she is so private and it's slathered all over the media but your rationale isn't realistic in the least. She was smart enough to handle it right without any fibbing. You speak as though RZ is just another Joe Blow. It's nothing new- media has created a feeding frenzy on some of the most trivial of gossip and many can't eat it up fast enough. Hey, anything to sell a tabloid. Even GMA jumped on Renee's photo from what I read.. plus all the social media. When you're an A-list actor it's unavoidable. Would you expect photos so dramatically different to just slip through the cracks? Realistically there *is* no privacy anymore, and it's been that way for a long time. Yep. People are just as bad about putting too much out there at times. That's just the way it is.
My daughter, who of course I love dearly, earnestly thought she was doing me a favor by suggesting I sign up for a Facebook acct. This was before it was at glutted with as much junk & not as popular as it now is. (although I understand the older people ran the young ones off to Instagram ) FB was a free way to find & connect with old classmates & friends you haven't seen in a few a blue moons. And I did make some valuable connections. Yet it came with a price, even though I kept my settings on 'friends only' and some totally private. Once you sign up you can close your account, but it's still there & can be accessed by the creators and I'm sure hacks. A 'Hotel California kind of thing' if you remember the lyrics. I don't care what someone had for dinner or the riveting news of needing a pedi.. accompanied by a pic of a pair of feet with chipped polish. Nothing heavy, you could laugh about it, but it's mostly a big yawner. TMI is everywhere. I chose to stop checking in when it started becoming uber petty & mostly boring. I never got into Twitter for total lack of interest for more of the same.
Being high-profile makes you a moving target for anything & everything which comes with celebrity. You can't really believe there isn't major potential for a lot of buzz with editorial. Thick skin is required to survive with or without celebrity. This is the world we live in. Reality TV wouldn't be so popular if many didn't love to eavesdrop & voyeur into others' lives. I'm pointing fingers back at me, as I too have a few guilty pleasures- at least I'm honest about.
I stand by my opinion, not just for RZ. When someone in the public eye has so obviously had work done & it's been put out there for all to scrutinize- JUST BE REAL. It may be nobody's business & you could argue she owes no explanation, which would be better than a lie. But that's not reality.. THAT'S the price of celebrity. By being honest about it, it's no longer a point of contention and end of story. When it's already out there, there's respect for honesty since it's NO BIG DEAL. One can walk away with integrity still in tact. The next dozen gossip-filled stories will always be there to take its place.
Last... to one of your statements. I find it wrong to just pay attention to yourself.. mind your own business when there's major issues of concern, which need to be made public. They should be addressed to raise awareness and rid an abundance of ignorance. You can't live under a rock & expect to make changes for the better. Even on a smaller scale, your actions towards others by NOT always minding your own business could make a major positive impact on the life of someone else.
Welcome to reality.

The thing is, I don't like when they lie about having something done. Just admit it and people will move on. Part of what makes people continue to discuss it ad nauseam is the denial by the person when it is very clear that they do not look like they use to. I personally couldn't care less about what she (or any other celebrity does to his or herself)- it is not my life, face, or money.

Now, the new movie will have to be called, "Bridget Jones' Aunt Romancing Mr. Darcy".

I heard they are working on a new one, but Hugh Grant says he's not coming back.

I suspect she was abducted by outer space aliens

She didn't just have her eyes done. She had some major work done. While she doesn't look horrible like some people, she doesn't even look like the same person. It's a shame to change your whole face like that. She had a sweet look before. Some stars (a few) get it right with plastic surgery. Many do not. You would think with all their money that it would be easy, but I guess choosing a doctor requires research. I would have looked at stars like Susan Lucci who did it right and gone to their doctors.

I see people with no limbs, bodies that don't work, they can't use a toilet or feed themselves or dress themselves ....I think I'm pretty reality based. Badgering a celebrity to reveal her cosmetic procedures isn't going to make the world a better place in my opinion. Getting out there and doing something to make another persons life more meaningful and comfortable is pretty based in the real world. All the rationalizing in the world doesn't help me see why these celebrities owe me honesty. I despise reality TV and oversharing. I honestly do not see any benefit to me knowing what this lady did to her eyes lol. I just don't. It's not my right to know, it's not affecting my self esteem or view on aging. If it did,I have issues and it's not her responsibility to help me deal with them. We disagree. You have the right to your opinion. I just do not agree with any of this.
Who's badgering? Why are you trying to make us feel bad about a natural curiosity? I know many stars have surgery and I don't care what they had done. But this is a startling change into a completely different face. God bless you for your work. I'm not a star worshiper and barely pay attention to them. I'm based in the real world most of the time. It's hard not to comment on Renee's surgery. Whatever it was, her essence is gone.
