Re: List a bad skin care product or makeup item you used and ....

Two brands I haven't had good results with and had to do returns are Josie M. and Laura Geller.  No breakouts or irritation, but the items just didn't work for me.  I've learned just to watch and not order.

Purity by Philosophy.  Burns my eyes.  However, they keep saying it is so gentle even on eyes.

I tried a Celderma Wear Fit gel sheet mask that just wraps the neck and under the chin area -- it attaches over your ears to stay in place. The design of the mask was fine but the scent was so strong and musky smelling. Ugh, I took it off right away and there's no way I would leave this on my face for 20 minutes like it suggested. That is the problem when you are trying new Korean sheet masks that you haven't used before -- you don't know if they are heavily fragranced or not. I got rid of the rest of the box.

Now I'm sticking to the Korean brand Innisfree My Real Squeeze sheet masks in the rice, green tea, pomegranate, and the acai berry versions as they only have a faint scent and are hydrating sheet masks.

Re: List a bad skin care product or makeup item you used and ....

Cetaphil cleanser left my face feeling dry and it felt like it still had a film on it, even though I rinse my face very well. Anything Clinique. It's like applying sandpaper to my face.

I also don't do well with oils. It never seems to sink in.

Any foundation and most concealers I try seem to have that yellow cast to it. Can't go lighter than a fair/medium because it looks too light. So I just don't bother with foundation.

The product line that I could not tolerate was Elemis.   The overly scented creams were so headache inducing.    I guess they were suppose to be rose scented but to me they were terrible.

I don't even know if the product was effective because i immediately had to wash it off.

What was so funny is that I have guinea pigs and after I applied the product I went into their room and they sniffed the air and immediately ran into their hiding spot.  They have very sensitive respiratory systems and it was too strong for them.

The products get good reviews but they weren't for me.

Peter Thomas Roth PM retinol treatment. I was even using it every other night because I have sensitive skin. The product dried my skin out so badly. I ended up having to dump it after trying to force it to work for about a month.

It's the pits to be paying for something on easy pay that you have dumped, because it does not work for your skin.

[ Edited ]

Two Josie Maran products (caused reactive bumps):

   *Pure Argan Oil

   * Reserve Concentrate

    ETA: Resurfacing Serum

Those kind of bumps are the devil to get rid of.

1. Purity is tough on my face/burns my eyes

2. Josie's oil seems to go bad sooner than other

3.  WEN (nuff said)

4.  Retinol in drugstore products (not strong enough for

     me)

5.  LG Balance 'N Brighten. Not a dupe for Bare Minerals!

6.  Anything from IT Cosmetics. The products/colors just

      don't work for me

Cetaphil cleanser didn't work for me: it felt like a film was left on my face that I couldn't rinse off. Also too drying.

Any face product with a strong or perfume scent.

Lancome moisturizers, Neutrogena hydro boost, Physicians Formula Healthy Skin foundation to name a few.
