Liquid or mineral foundation???

I've been using BE for several years now, but over the weekend I stopped at a Clinique countered and decided to give their foundation a try. The sales lady suggested I try a new liquid (matte) foundation. Being a bit bored with BE, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm now wondering if I can truly make the switch. It's almost like I'm too heavy handed with the liquid foundation. When I'm done applying it, I just want to wash it all off and start all over again. Anyone else out there have this problem? Do you prefer liquid or mineral/powder foundation??
