Re: Liquid Foundation Newbie

If your skin is dry, I suggest applying moisturizer before your powder foundation. Let the moisturizer dry completely before using your powder.

Re: Liquid Foundation Newbie

I've been wearing BareMinerals powder foundation for years, but now it just doesn't seem to cover like it used to.  Is it that I'm getting older or has something changed with the quality of the product?

I have a hard time finding liquid foundations without any type of silicone which I'm allergic to.  Has anyone tried Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation?  I like their CC cream with SPF 30, but it has a very strong smell to it.

@ Longhorn Gal Geek out of water just reviewed the Juice Beauty foundation. I don't think she was very fond of it. She has great foundation reviews. She is around 44 with dry skin.

[ Edited ]

I'm 70 and don't like the feel of liquid foundations - never have.   I have 2 more suggestions for you (in case you don't have enough already).

Mally's Neutralizing Primer - not a foundation really, but smooths on and camoflages blotches, etc., and gives me an even color complexion.  For every day, I use this neutralizing primer instead of foundation. (you can buy this at Kohl's)

CG AquaSmooth compact foundation.  I've used this since I was in my 30's, so a looong time.  It comes with a flat sponge, but I use a foundation brush instead to swirl on a light layer.  It's buildable so you can increase the coverage when needed.  It doesn't feel like a liquid because, well, it's not.

Good luck in your search.

Thank you @Lipstick1!  I will check out her review.  I guess my search continues.

@JoNikki

I suggest that you use moisturizer first before you apply your foundation.  I use a light moisturizer (Origins' GinZing) then a primer (Laura Geller's Hydrating Spakle). Then I apply my liquid foundation (right now I am using Cover Girl's MatteMade, but I have oily skin).

So, for your dry skin, I will recommend L'Oreal Tru Match Super Blendable Makeup.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions! I heavily moisturize before applying my powder (Josie Maran Argan Milk and Butter) I'll try to go into Sephora and get some samples this weekend

@momoftwo2007  -- I used to wear CG MatteMade every summer (when my complexion is most oily).   I can't find it in the stores anymore.  I thought it might have been discontinued.  Where did you find it?

Re: Liquid Foundation Newbie

I've had a similar problem to you.  I used powder foundation for years - both Bare Minerals and IT.  I couple years ago that my face didn't look right with the powder foundation.

I have been using Too Faced Born This Way foundation and love it.  I use PTR Skin to Die For matte primer.  (note: although QVC carries a large varity of colors in the Born This Way Foundation, they don't carry the one I use Warm Nude, I get it at Ulta instead)

@tototwo It is in drugstores everywhere. I think this is the new release.  It might not be the same as the one you had.
