I just ordered the Adriane Arpel product, it's clear and it works. Came with 2 powders.

Clear is good, but I default to a liner that is the exact shade of my lip skin color.  Not only am I creating a barrier to feathering but I'm also improving my own lip line.

That works best for me.

@Tinkrbl44   ITA about lip liner in neutral shade of lips. If you need to, you can also fill in w/ that shade to further keep lipstick in place longer. The lipstick has a base to adhere to.

Need help on good products for lipstick feathering I want a colorless product since I love lipsticks etc and do not want to worry with colored lipliners all the time.  Have used Laura Geller's fill-n-full plumping lip liner and Doll 10's lip shaper they both do a fair job but want want really targeting for feathering, feathering issues not real bad as of now am 70 and will get worse as I age.  Thank-you for your help.

Laura Geller has a clear lip liner on her website called Modern Classic Invisible Color Locking Lip Liner.

It's supposed to help with feathering.

She is always running sales on her website.

I normally like to use clear lip liner pencils, too.

Adrienne Arpel (Signature Club A) on HSN sometimes will have one in a kit, too. It's more of a large-jumbo-type of a clear lip crayon.

I've also used Avon's Glimmerstick in clear, and I currently have a clear lip liner pencil made by Rimmel that I got at Walmart for just a few dollars.

I used Rimmel years ago, thanks for mentioning it.
Don't laugh, lip liners, are they to be applied to your lips or outside the lip line?

Oh no @Alsace Gal, I don't laugh at someone's post like this here. We're all learning here. Heart

I think that it depends on the type of liner that you're using, as to whether or not you just want to outline your lips with it, or use it to outline and color your lips with it first, and then go over your lips with your lipstick after.

With a clear liner pencil, I just prefer to outline my lips with it, as the clear pencils tend to have some type of a wax--like beeswax--or balm in them so that your lipstick doesn't feather.

I've only tried a lip liner one time.  I feel I could benefit from one because my lips aren't even.  I don't have an issue with feathering.  The one time I tried a lip liner, it looked comical and not in a good way Smiley Surprised

I use the liner made by Mally. It's double-ended and one is to fill the lip. I usually just use the liner and then my regular lipstick. It works. I always make sure I have an extra on hand so I'm never without it.

Don't use or like lip liners, they can give a not so good look sometimes.

What I do, and have done for years,  is to put a translucent finishing powder on and around my lips with a brush and it really helps with feathering and keeping the color true and helping it last on the lips!
