With Fall right around the corner, I'm curious as to what color lipstick you wear with darker clothing. Specifically, burgundy/wine/plum shades. I am very fair, dark hair and blue eyes. Burgundy lip shades look too goth lol at 65 years young. I normally wear red shades or pink, but neither look right with burgundy clothes. Nudes wash me out.
What lip color do you wear with black and white clothing? Navy and green?
I'm hoping this will be a fun and informative thread!

I do not match my color to my clothing, but rather to my skin tone.

How about a nice fuschia pink color?  It has some more color than just a regular pink or coral, which are great colors, but a fuschia pink color is a bit richer.  Or maybe a mauve shade?  I am very fair with blue eyes but used to have blonde hair but now it's gray and I can't wear burgundy or deep wine lip colors - too dark and intense.

@Steffdoggy10  -  My coloring is similar as yours.  My go-to lip color is mauve.  Mauve is my natual lip color but I go a just a little darker.

Rosy colors are generally my go-to colors. I don't try to match clothing. I just wear what I think looks good and fits the occasion (formal, informal, etc).

@Steffdoggy10   I am quite fair, too, but wear pinks/rose tone lipsticks all year. I'm always in black, white neutrals, but in fall/winter, my lip colors go to a more rose tone instead of the more pale pinks.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone! I think I will check out some mauve lipsticks next time I go to Ulta.
I think of mothers being more of a dusty brown plum color, but I'll check them out and see what they have

I'm fair, dark hair, brown eyes and have recently switched from a pinkish color to a burgundy.  Was happy fall is coming but switched during the summer months as I was tired of wearing the same shade for many years and wanted a change.

Now wearing CoverGirl Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Balm Bliss You Berry. I felt a bit too goth at first but now really like it.  Can be put on lightly or with a heavier hand for more color saturation.  Finally felt free of pink lol.

Tried their red and too dark for me.

Amazon currently $5.88.

Well, here is my take on matching lipstick/gloss colors to one's clothing.  Most likely, you're wearing colors in your clothes that you feel look good on you.  That flatters your skin tone and coloring, right?  So why wouldn't you want to coordinate your lip color with your top color?  If your clothes are the right color for you, in all likelihood your lipstick would be too.  I'm a fair-light neutral leaning, cool.  All my clothes are cool toned and in the fall and winter, I wear more jeweled-tones and browns.  Reds are cool reds. Greens are blue based greens.  My hair color is med-dark brown, blue eyes.  Here is my go-to lipgloss for the cooler months.  I have more but this is my favorite.  Funny story...our town's school colors are orange and black.  Decades ago I bought an orange shirt for homecoming.  I walked in my mother's house and the first thing she said was, "why in the world are you wearing ORANGE???" (good memories!)  I have a peach colored shirt hanging in my closet that still has the tags on it.  It's probably 20 years old.  I wonder if the store will still let me return it?
