You can suddenly develop an allergic reaction to something you've used for years.

@NYCLatinaMe

I thought I mentioned that I don't think they actually do any noticeable plumping.  I don't have thin lips that I would be able to actually SEE a difference.  Mine are full but not lip injection/filler full.  If I had gotten up to see what the Too Faced product did that night, I might have seen some plumping!  Sorry I wasn't able to answer your question.

@monicakm I agree about the lip plumping effect.  I could use a little plumping, but I don't see any effect when using them.  I kinda like the tingle.  I stay away from lip plumpers that claim not to tingle.  Lately, I have been using Lip Venom on top of a lip stain but underneath my lipstick and lip gloss (which often is often a plumping gloss).  I think glosses in general have more of a plumping effect than the lip plumpers themselves, but still, not much for me.

Speaking of a reaction to eyelash glue, I had a bad reaction to the glue they use for temporary teeth when you're getting crowns.  And I was getting 4 at one time, the front 4 top teeth.  I ended up putting some gauze between my temps and the inside of my lip until it abated.

Yeah, lip gloss, just by the nature of the product, have a plumping LOOK from being glossy vs matte that tends to have the opposite effect.

@monicakm on your question about what could cause a skin care product to be insanely painful one time and not the next, I would look to see what you did before.  Something you ate or drank, a cleanser, a retinol, alcohol,aha, etc., anything can have a reaction.

Thank you.  I considered that.  Don't know if I have the guts to troubleshoot it or not Smiley Surprised  I would have had my evening skincare on because I was on my way to bed.  So you are probably right.  I try not to get retinol or glycolic acid on my lips but I know I do a little.  I also use other products at night that could react negatively to a maximizing lip plumper.

I was listening to old recordings on our landline tonight to erase them.  I came across a long message from my brother that ended in him saying "I love ya sis".  I miss him so much.

so sorry it saddened you @monicakm, but maybe it was nice to hear his voice?

Oh and I do use glycolic acid (in a pad) and retinol on my lips, all over my face really.  I think lips need care too.  And I am currently trying on top of that the Stri-Vectin Double FixTM for Lips Plumping & Vertical Line Treatment that I bought half price as a GMA deal.  Not sure it is doing much but I love Stri-Vectin products and don't have vertical lines, so there is that.  My lips are fine but looking to pump them up.  I am waiting for my order of the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask, which has many good reviews on Amazon, to arrive.  Maybe you've tried it.  I know you love Tatcha, I think.  And am thinking about trying one of the many Laneige Lip products.  Trying to update my look.  I really stopped wearing make-up during the pandemic and haven't recovered.  Just looking for a youthful glow.   I guess sleeping would help too.  Will try that now... 🛌

It was such a surprise and a shock to hear his voice.  It was the first time since he died. I was not expecting it.  99% of the calls to our landline are telemarketers so I keep the ringer off. DH is still hanging on to ancient technology and won't let us get rid of it yet.  My brother had a hard time transitioning from our landline to our cell phone numbers so it wasn't unusual to hear an old message from him from time to time.

That Strivectin product looks interesting.

I'm sure I would have lip lines if my lips were ever nekkid but I have something on them all the time and much of that time is the Tatcha

Kissu.  It's nearly 3:00 a.m. and my dear brother's namesake is curled up behind my knees.  I wonder how he would feel knowing I name my new dog after him.  I think he'd be good with it.
