Lip Plumpers. Why?

[ Edited ]

I've been enjoying lip plumping glosses (I can't tell that they actually plump and don't wear them for that) and have a question.  Would anyone know why the same plumping gloss would mildly sting one time and the next time you want to douse your lips in ice water? Smiley Surprised  Actually I wanted to wipe it off as fast as I could but where's the fun in that?  All, and I have several that range from Too Faced, Lawless, Buxom, to Huda, Kosas, Fenty to Dior and Hourglass.  I think I'm addicted to the pain Smiley Surprised  I've used the Too Faced gloss 3 or 4 times.  It's this one

Too Faced - Lip Injection Maximum Plump Extra Strength Hydrating Lip Plumper 0.14 fl oz/ 4.1 mL

I used it last night and thought I was going to dieHot Emoji Art Prints for Sale | Redbubble

I should have gotten up to see if my lips had actually plumped because if they ever did actually plump, it would have then.  This Too Face Lip Injection Max is more than I bargained for if it does it again.  Not for wimps (and I'm one)

@monicakm     It may be that you are having an ALLERGIC reaction

Well it certainly felt like it could have been.  If it had been any other product, I might have gone to the ER lol  It was INtense.  But this isn't the only lip plumper that is mild one time and burns more the next.  I don't know if I'm brave enough to try this one again tonight.  My lips are full enough but not "lip filler" full.  They may have had that lip filler look last night.

@monicakm    Many years ago, my eyelids got all swollen and "gooey".   I ran to the ophthalmologist because I figured it was my contact lenses.     He told me to DITCH THE FALSE EYELASHES.

Unfortunately, he was RIGHT.  It was not the lashes themselves, but  a reaction between the glue and the contact lens material (plastic).   Just the proximity of the two "did it".      di

@monicakm ...................its highly likely you are having an allergic reaction.  To be allergic to something does not mean you get an adverse reaction every time.  IMO you need to stop using it, because the next time your throat could possibly swell and impede your breathing causing a very serious outcome.

I can understand that being a problem. There's another makeup / beauty forum I frequent where the majority of the users are much younger than me.  Nearly every day someone is asking if it's okay/safe to wear false eyelashes with contacts. I think every time I've seen that question answered it's been yes.  I'm sure there are plenty of women who can't wear false lashes because of contacts. I'm sorry that you're one of them.

I've only used a lip plumping lipstick once.  Felt like the worst sunburn I ever had.

Been tempted to try again,  but always chicken out.

There's that voice of reason again.  It always shows up when it's the last thing you want to hear (g).

Okay, I have just completed a test with four lip plumpers. Two-Faced lip injection Max, Huda Beauty ice, Kosas wet lip oil, and Fenty heat.  1 plumper on each quadrant of my lips. The first and only product that I can feel do anything is the Huda lip plumper. It doesn't hurt, you just know it's there. It feels like it's supposed to feel. Two-Face lip injection? Nothing.  Same for the other two.

That's just 🍌s. Remember, it was the too-faced product that burned so bad last night.

Might I suggest two-faced lip injection, maximum strength 👿. Just kidding!

If you'd like to try again I would suggest Huda Beauty silk balm icy.  It is a beautiful turquoise blue in the tube but goes on clear.

It's not painful but you can feel it working. I have on four right now and it's the only one I can feel, including the one that nearly killed me last night 😳. I'm going to try another four tomorrow and see if any of them actually tingle.  I know the Fenty ice does because I've been wearing it to bed every  night. Not at all painful or I certainly wouldn't be using it!

By the way, I've had the Huda plumper on for at least 15 minutes. I can still feel it.  I'll be repurchasing this one.
