Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I've used the same compact foundation for over 20 years. I keep trying others - I currently have 2 new ones - but I always go back to my tried and true. I can't use any liquid, I've tried 100's! And the powders/minerals just settle in my lines and don't cover much of anything. But it's fun to keep experimenting anyway. I'll be following this thread for recommendations.

I've been really pleased with the It Cosmetics CC+ Cream, with a little Celebration Foundation or LG Baked Elements Foundation dusted over to set it. This morning I tried the IT No. 50 Serum Primer prior to applying the CC+ Cream and it made my makeup look even better.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I have a number of foundations/bb creams that I rotate depending on the look I want . My skin is fair and is normal/slightly dry with a bit of hyperpigmentation so I like a medium coverage. I like It CC Cream with 50 spf which gives me quite a bit of coverage. For a lighter look I've recently been using my tinted moisturizers with spf and then using It Celebration Foundation Illumination powder which gives me a creamy look and a nice glow. It comes with a great brush. I also really like Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in shade 21 with spf47. It is creamy with a subtle glow and medium cover. I order it from their website. Lorac Porefection is another really nice foundation that is oil free but is silky and has a nice amount of cover.

What do you use, and what are you looking for in a foundation? Skin type?

I was wondering the same things, and also what type of coverage OP wants. I am not sue how we can give suggestions without knowing these things?

I know that since my skin has gotten better, I am using lighter, more sheer foundations than I use to so I've had to buy some new foundations. I love trying new foundations and experimenting and I use different ones based on my skin's needs, desired coverage, and my mood. Smiley Happy

I use Ole Henricksen's BB cream, in medium. Works very well. If I feel I need a touch up during the day, I use Josie Maron's matchmaker serum, in compact form or a Laura Geller powder. I have used this all winter, let's see what happens during the summer.

Re: Let's talk foundations ....

I don't think I've ever found a foundation that doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup. That's my goal -- probably my dream.

I'm beginning to think it's my sunscreens, so today I checked out Paula's Choice due to great reviews, but was very VERY disappointed in the ingredients.

I'm getting to the point where I think nothing will give me what so many of you seem to have found. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

I have been liking the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation-great coverage and lasts for a long time. Best for normal, combo or oily skin though.

Funny, you're right - this topic is never worn out, LOL!

Does anyone else use Dermacia? When I wanted a change, I decided to order it a couple years ago. Someone had given me a sample of Lycogel or Dermacia at one time.

I still use my HG mineral foundation (Cory Cosmetics mica blend) about 60 to 70% of the time, but I love Dermacia liquid too. It's a creamy liquid and has no foundation feel to it.

I will experiment with just about anything, but I've found my HG (Bare Minerals original) and I'm not wasting any more money. I'll waste it on lipsticks instead.

I use PC's Resist Super Light SPF 30 (physical). It's full of antioxidants/antiaging ingredients that I don't normally see in sunscreens. I'm curious as to which ingredients disappointed you so much?
