Re: Let's talk drugstore foundations.

@jannabelle1 oooh, I just checked out this Almay product. I am going to try this! I also think I should try the Olay cream one too.

@monicakm
I know this is O/T but have you seen YT's touting the Dermalect self-esteem skin serum and if so, what are your thoughts? I've searched the Dermalect site and couldn't find ingredients list. Ty

@Squirrel Lover
i feel ya pain. Every day seems a struggle with makeup. Eye makeup right now is a giant pain. Hooded eyes, loose textured 56 y/o skin....ughhh
Only cream shadows are easy. I don't think there is a single eye primer on the market specifically made for older eyes. My latest acquisition is Mac eye prime+prep. Works no better than my $4 Elf. Next I'll try Mac painterly then I'm calling it quits.

Some really nice suggestions were given here! One more to consider too is Maybelline Super Stay Up to 24HR Skin Tint. It’s sheer to medium coverage and feels like nothing on.

@Squirrel Lover

I have purchased make up at Target, and if it wasn't a good match, be it lipstick or foundation etc, it was refundable, providing you kept the receipt.

@LizzieInSRQ This has great reviews. Can you tell me what shade you wear? I can't tell from the swatches which one would be best for me.

@Squirrel Lover yes, it would be hard to tell from swatches. Ive been wearing this for well over a decade and cant remember how i figured out my color except it does match my jaw/ neckline.

I wear 240, Natural Beige. I have deep brunette hair with light to medium skin

Re: Let's talk drugstore foundations.

@Midmod Oh, boy, do I know what you are talking about. My eyes have always been hooded all my life but they have turned into a puddled mess for me now. My eyes look partially closed in my photos and they are getting wrinkled to boot. Someday I may need to get some of the lid removed if they get real bad.

I don't wear eyeshadow primer. None of them work. I do wear MAC painterly as an eyeshadow. I also like Julep's eyeshadow stick in Putty that I get on Amazon. I have a few powder eyeshadows from Mac: Omega, Naked Lunch and Malt. They are light taupey netural-cool tones. I am starting to understand now how powders are drying for mature dry skin. I will use up what I have then move away from them. I have enough to last until my mid-sixties though!

It is hard to age. Yes, there is no alternative but it is hard to see your reflection in the mirror in the morning and not recognize the person looking back at you. I would never get Botox or fillers or alter my face. I am who I am but I miss how full my face was. I have marionette lines now. I am from a family of saggers. We don't wrinkle much but we sag alot!!!!!

REVLON! Revlon has the best foundation for older skin.

Re: Let's talk drugstore foundations.

My latest favorite from the drugstore has been the L'Oreal Serum Foundation!

I am on my second bottle (I bought a cheap pump to use for it as the eye dropper thingie was too messy!) and love that I can use it alone or mix it with other foundations that I find too heavy these days. It is rare that I would use a full coverage foundation any more, so I have lightened those up with this L'Oreal product.
