I think to be a host, criticism comes w/ the territory and they've developed a thick skin. After all, if they did take our negative comments comments to heart, they would have changed what we didn't like...they have not.

I completely agree! Anyone in the public eye must have thick skin in these days of social media. I do think the corporation has a duty to divert stalkers and such but if they can't take a little criticism, they need to get out of the business and go live in the woods.
I "like" most of my local news programs on Facebook to get news & weather updates during the day. It's amazing to me how critical some of those posts are. Even to the point of giving hair & makeup advice and not in a good way.
DV must have something in his contract where all negative posts are deleted!! He's probably QVCs #1 saleman, he is protected at all costs.

I forgot to mention their schedules suck too. I know it is better than standing at a factory for 8to10 hours , since their are 3 channels now they are all over the place , one day i saw Nancy on in the afternoon live and then on in the middle of the night live. They used to have more regular hours for the longtime hosts.

We should never accept rude and nasty comments about people just because it has become the norm. It is also not an acceptable excuse to criticize someone publically just because their job requires them to be in the public eye.
I really hate those excuses for bad behaviour.

@HappyDaze I see a lot of excuses on this thread. People don't want to feel bad about what they're doing, even though they know they would never say what they're saying to the person's face...because it isn't right.
I can understand the ire when someone in the public eye says or does something awful, but that's not what's going on in most of these threads. Most of these threads are about hosts who don't act or look the way posters want them to.

There's a thread in Community Chat where the OP wonders if a host has lost weight. I asked a moderator at what point do they draw a line when it comes to commentary about a host, but there was no response. IMO a host's weight is not something that should be speculated about here.

I think he gets more compliments and good remarks. (except for maybe the "happy dance.")

Wow, when I saw the heading of your post I thought I just had to look - to my relief it wasn't what I thought. I know they are very well paid but I always stand by the old 'if you can't say something nice just don't say anything.'

When i posted that i thought i had" hosts" in the title . Then it was too late , but the way it was could have been a whole different discussion.

I'm not so sure about that @Shanus@. Jane Treacy has posted that she really didn't give a rat's @ss what people say about her. ....or something to that effect. These people are in many ways performers. They have a lot of moxy and I think most of them feel the same as Jane.
