Wow!  That almost gives me some courage to try myself.  Great job.

To be clear, that is a root touch-up spray, not actual color.  I'm just not going t bother doing it for real until I plan to be out more.

@ECBG I do my own color, but I don't have the dexterity to do foils or highlights, especially on myself.  Plus, there's the issue of $$$.  I use pro color.  My hairdresser and a partner own a Redken school and she once talked me into going there and getting color and highlights which I loved.  Howerver, when I returned for a touch-up the girl that did them was no longer there and they could't find my formulation.  I ended up with waaaay to dark hair and once that happens there's nothing to be done with it.  Color will not lighten color.  They never were able to get it the color I liked after waiting for it to fade out and then trying again, so I used a color remover and started over with my own formulation.

@Icegoddess I can really understand the issue you had when returning to that salon.

I returned to my salon at my last appt., knowing my stylist had moved.  Being an Aveda salon, they keep your color card, so I was all set in that respect, however, this stylist was only two or three years out of school, cut too much hair, and way over did the highlights.

I had wanted a certain older stylist, but she was out with a shoulder replacement.  My next appointment will be at an Aveda salon close to me.

I like Aveda because I know they are given special training with classes and backup workshops.  I can also get the products I love.

There's no reason for me to drive half an hour out of my way anymore.

My hair is salt and pepper so I don't need touch ups.i should have fixed my hair first.  I just came in.  it's windy outside.

What  you used matched your hair color perfectly.  It doesn't look like a temporary fix at all.

I bought one of those root touchup kits (hairdye). I'm thinking about doing it this weekend, my roots really need it. I am a little afraid though that I'll do a terrible job!

@Porcelain I wondered if anyone would.  I did have one taking the dare and it wasn't the one with the tree roots.
