I've always been a little bit lazy about makeup and skin care -- in my younger days I used lots of products and layers, but I had to force myself to take the time to do it.

As I've gotten older, I've gotten lazy.  These days I have my "full face of makeup" down to 5 products and just a few minutes.  My appearance has not suffered -- in fact, I think I look better and more youthful with less.

Has anyone else streamlined their makeup process over time?  Do you take lots of makeup steps?  or very few?   Do you wear more makeup, or less makeup, as you've gotten older?

I am not lazy. My tastes have changed! But I've never been for gotta have more, more, more!

A little definition, a little color over good, healthy skin is really all I want.

But yes, I have streamlined and use a few strategic pieces of makeup.

I'm 61 and I wear more makeup now than when I was younger. BUT the reason is because when I was younger I had a flawless complexion with lots of lashes so I never wore any makeup. It wasn't until my late 30s that I started to wear makeup of any kind. Now I have not-so-perfect skin and my lashes are not what they use to be so I wear more makeup now. I also spend more time with skincare than I do with makeup.

I wore very little makeup in my 20s and 30s.  I only wore eyeliner and lipsticks most days.  But for some reason, my skin changed in my 40s, and I am experincing acne problems. So, I started wearing a full face makeup nowadays to cover up my problems. But in the summer, I tend to wear a no makeup look, which consists about 5 products, too.

I'm not lazy, but I have streamlined my makeup as I have gotten older. I took very good care of my skin, so I do not need a lot of coverage, so I like a nice light foundation, followed by finishing powder, a little blush, mascara and eyeliner, gloss and I am done!It takes me 5 minutes...I do add a tiny bit of brow pencil. That is my Monday-Friday look. On Saturdays and Sundays, its lip gloss and out the door. I give my face a breather on the weekends, unless we are going somewhere special....I wear less than I used to, but I love makeup so I still love to experiment and try different things occasionally! It is still fun for me!

I've never really worn a lot of make-up. I always felt like a clown when I put it on and felt uncomfortable. I still wear very little make-up - no mascara unless going out in the evening - thankfully my lashes are still pretty good. Weekends I wear nothing on my face ever. At 57 I have pretty good skin. I'm more into skincare than make-up. My daytime routine for work is a little eyeliner, a BB cream, a swipe of bronzer, brow and lip and I'm out the door. At 5:00 a.m. that's enough Woman LOL

I wear less makeup now than I used to on my days off.  There was a time when I'd put on all my makeup even on days that I didn't leave the house.  Sometimes I just put on eyeliner, mascara, and moisturizer, or I don't wear any makeup at all.

However, I think my work day routine has actually gotten longer than it used to be.   I just recently purchased a  Smashbox kit that has a face primer, eyelid primer, and under eye primer.  That's three more things, plus I've started experimenting with highlighters and contouring.

So I guess at times I do less and at other times I do more.

Most days I have just sunscreen on - sometimes I even go to the store like that - scary thought huh?  If I'm going shopping, I do it up a little more.  Can't remember how much makeup I wore when I was young.  I know my sister cut my hair and would make my eyes up like Twiggy when I was in high school.

I wear 5 items

1.Spackle with moisturizer

2. concealer

3.foundation - powder most days

4.blush

5.lipstick

For special occasions I also wear mascara and eyeliner & change from powder to liquid foundation.

The only thing that has changed since I ws a teen is I added spackle and now need some concealer on 2 small sunspots.
