Laura Mercier has changed..........

and not for the good.  Back in June this year there was a sale so I purchased my usual oil-free tinted moisturizer.  I just opened it the other day and it is oxidizing on my skin.  Of course on my face but also on my hand.  I called today and LM will not take returns over 30 days and then offered me 15% off.  Are you kidding me?  LM use to be such a nice co. until whoever bought them out.  I won't be returning to LM.  Why is it when companies are bought out they are good at the beginning and then it's downhill from there.  Cheaper ingredients, discontinuing products.  Anyone else experience this when a company is sold?

@Katcat1

Oh yes...and by have spent so much too when trying to find replacements.

For years I wore one Clinique foundation. When I couldn't find it new, I started wearing outdated.

Now I'm having autoimmune issues, especially on my face when wearing makeup. There's probably a reason companies specify "fresh" dates.😕

@MandyG06  I did ask if the ingredients changed but, of course, they would never admit it.  Oh, yes, we use a cheaper blah blah instead of blah blah.  lol

@Katcat1  I assume a lot of money changes hands in the acquisition of bringing a new line under the umbrella of a major company. In order to make a profit, recapture that money spent, less than great ingredients are substituted. It’s an issue across the boards.

Re: Laura Mercier has changed..........

I use Laura Mercier foundation.  They changed the formula a while back, and I bought a couple of extra tubes when I heard about the change.  Now I'm on the last tube.  What they replaced it with isn't getting good reviews, and I don't know what I'm going to do.  This was the best foundation I ever used, and I used it for many years.

Re: Laura Mercier has changed..........

@NickNack  What were you using?  I used the tinted moisturizer oil-free.  After I applied I was orange.  This never happened before.  Believe or not I looked into No. 7 foundations at Target.  They have a wide variety but I selected the Stay Perfect and it is quite impressive.  I looked in the magnifying mirror and the finish is not visible on your skin.  LOvely product.  Plus you had a choice between warm or cool shades.  I did buy Chanel but the shades I selected were not working and the price difference is quite different.  Chanel $50 vs. No. 7 $15.99.  Check out the No. 7 products you will be amazed like I was.

@Katcat1  I am using the Silk Creme foundation in the tube.  They still have this foundation, but they changed the formula.  The reviews aren't great.  I may try it when I run out of this, but I'm not hopeful that I'll like it.  I'll look into the No. 7 products, too.  Thanks for the recommendation.
