Laura Geller baked blushes - invisible?

This is my first Laura Geller purchase. I was looking for a subtle powdered blush for my fair, cool toned skin. The blurb for this color, Ethereal Rose, said it is good for pale skin while all the others were for warm or dark skin, so I went with it.

When it arrived I was surprised to see mine looks more like a beige foundation shade with a small swirl of pink in it. It doesn't look like this image. I brushed it on over my CC cream and am not even sure I can see it. Are her blushes supposed to be like this? Or did I get a dud?

Second question - it seems shimmery. What's up with that?

Lately I have gotten a couple of duds with blush. I use it for contour or highlight. You can layer it but I use her product so it looks like no make-up.

After the pandemic quality control on the who world is hit or miss.

@PilatesLover All the Geller baked blushes are mixed. I've never had one with the crushed pieces I see in that picture so I can easily swirl my blush brush to take advantage of the mix. I have to be careful not to paint myself too pink - I haven't contended with invisible with any of her colors.

@PilatesLoverWorn this shade for years and haven't had any issues with it. I don't see a beige foundation shade in it at all. Wouldn't call it invisible, but it's definitely not a shade that screams "I'm wearing blush!" It is subtle and natural for very pale skin. And while you may see a shimmery stripe in the blush in the container, don't feel it goes on glittery or sparkly at all. Perhaps you received an incorrect product or maybe this isn't the right product for you? I would recommend this shade if you are the palest of pales -- Nicole Kidman-like or lighter.

Laura's products are a mixture of shades swirled together. The mixture or intensity of the shades can vary. I am a light neutral skin tone and the Ethereal Rose was too light for me. Laura's customer service is good and they do have free returns. I would call them and let them know what yours looks like and have them, if you want, send you another.

I don't remember this blush looking shimmery on me.

If you look on her own product website under baked products, you should be able to find her baked blushes there.

There are FAQs there about the types of finishes--shimmer, natural, and matte.

It also explains how to apply the blushes for depth of color and what type of brush to use for that.

The blushes are made to be worn for all different skin types. I think that it just depends on how much color you want and how you apply them--either with a lighter hand for less color or with a heavier hand for more color.

She has tutorials on her website that show how to use her products, too.

I would definitely recommend taking a look on her site to get more information.

Each of the baked products is mixed before they're baked, so they will come out looking differently from each other due to the different color pigments that are added to them and that are swirled into them.

The Ethereal Rose is probably the lightest shade out of her pink baked blushes.

Another popular blush in her pink family of blushes is Pink Buttercream.

It's very descriptive!

I've been told over the years that my skin is really porcelain fair and that it's usually the first number listed on any vendor's foundation scale.

I think that if they came out with a shade called "ghost 000," that would be me.

I have Ethereal Rose and I think that it's a really beautiful shade of blush. I do think that it's a light shade and I think that maybe it could be applied a bit more with a heavier hand for more coverage, or maybe even possibly used as a highlighter if used with a light touch?

@PilatesLover I, too, purchased ethereal rose because I read it was good for pale skin. Mine looks exactly like your picture. When I put it on I cannot see any blush. I have no idea why I did not return it. I never wear it. If you ever find a blush that looks good on pale skin let me know, I have never found one.

I have a similar skin tone and only use the LG baked blushes. You can layer them if needed but a lot of color doesn't work for me. This is the proper shade. All the baked blushes are a blend of colors. You can also take a smaller brush and just use a certain portion/color in compact. I've done that for my eye shadow. Good luck.
