Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

@StraytoStay Double Take is less matte when applied wet.  I don't care for wetting it though.  To give this powder a more luminous look I brush it over either Champagne or Even Tone Spackle.

I like matte, but didn't like the look of the Double Take either way really. Maybe it wasn't as finely milled? It just was a dud for me. I still use the Elements in winter and Balance &Brighten in summer.

Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

The only Powder Foundation I use is BareMinerals Original. I have been wondering about LG's Baked Elements. Most reviews say that it is a luminous Matte & that it is more of a light coverage. For those who use it, can you compare it to BM Original? Is it a satin finish? I have been looking for something similar to BE Original in a compact. I have tried LG's BnB but it looks too powdery & too matte on me. I have tried many compacts only to return but none have worked quite as well for me as BM as I don't wear matte finishes. .

Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

I am probably the only one who doesn't like the baked Elements foundation. It is too sheer that I don't really see a purpose in using it in my makeup routine as I already having finishing powder. Plus I ruined mine by trying to use it with a wet makeup sponge for better coverage. Now it has this hard film over it that won't let me pick up powder.

Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

@MissSugarKane, that hard film on the pressed powder which you describe is an issue for me with wetting most pressed powder foundations.  I've found the only way to remove it is to scrape it away with a razor blade.  However, doing that can seem wasteful.  Even  if I'm going to use the scrapes to brush on dry, it's usually more product than I need to cover my face.

@MissSugarKane and @Trix - you can also use a very fine emery board to gently sand the very top.

Thanks for the tips. I will try and get it scraped off so I can use it up.

Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

@JeanLouiseFinch, Thanks for the emory board tip.  The trick works, but mine is a thick emory so it seems to be rubbing off  too much powder.  I'll pop into Walgreens and get a fine grain one for shaving pressed powder.  Woman Happy

I was going to suggest this too @JeanLouiseFinch. I have used this trick many times and it works great.

Re: Laura Geller Elements Foundation

I really like the Baked Elements foundation.  To me it is perfectly matte, and I prefer it over the Double Take as I found that to not go on as smoothly (wet or dry).  I am very fair but found the porcelain in Balance N Brighten to be too light and pink and the fair was too dark and yellow.  However, in the Baked Elements the porcelain color is perfect.
