Laura Gellar packaging?

I received my Spackle and eye shadow duo compact. Do you normally receive these products in boxes or with any type of seal? I am concerned because both items arrived in a clear bag and the eyeshadow is really messed up in the middle, with lines and smudges. If it was cracked in shipping I would expect pieces and powder on the mirror. I considered gifting the eyeshadow but I wouldn't give it away in this condition. I would keep it as long as it wasn't used by someone else.
