I know there was a discussion about this some time back. I want to get down to one products, I have dry, red sensitive skin and am not happy with anything I've used i the last year (Estee Lauder Verite, Bobbi Brown, Kate Somerville) I see La Mer came out with a soft cream version also and I want to purchase either the original or the soft cream. Has anyone used either that can help me. I am 64 years old. Thanks in advance.

I use the original cream - but just in the winter.

I have had the most success first applying Argan Milk, then the cream (which seals in the moisture from the argan product.)

It's pricey, but it lasts forever...a little goes a long way!

I have used the original cream for 15-20 years, started around the time I turned 30. It is wonderful. I too have dry and sensitive skin and I have never found a better moisturizer. It keeps my skin line-free, never irritates, and gives me a dewy glow. Even though its pricey, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I did try a sample of the soft cream back in the spring and did not like it as much. I thought it would be better for warm weather but it wasn't moisturizing enough for me and my skin felt dry after a few days of trying it. So I will stick with the original cream, I just use a smaller amount of it in the warmer months. Hope that helps.

Dry, sensitive skin here too. I use the original cream. Does not irritate skin and moisturizes enough for me. Last summer I decided to try the soft cream for the warmer weather. I did use the whole jar but my skin just didn't feel moisturized enough for me. So I use the original cream year round.

yes thank you that is the way I was leaning to get the original, but wanted someone with first hand experience. I'm hoping this is my holy grail and I can be done experimenting which has cost me so much money with bad results (all high end products).

If you want one product that does it all, I think you will be happy with LaMer. Of course they also sell serums, toners, eye creams, etc. But they are all a little out of my price range after buying the cream.

Well maybe you should have been trying mid-range products. I have found many things much less expensive by looking at the active ingredients and making my purchases that way. What are the ingredients in LeMer cream that makes it so much more expensive than most moisturizers?

I think someone had posted the ingredients at one time. Who knows why this particular product works for some people, while others tried it (or not) and think it's a waste of money. When you have sensitive skin you are happy when you finally find something that works for you without irritation.

I use La Mer. A little goes a long way. I like the soft cream in the summer and the regular in the winter. Ask for samples.

Dry/combo (depends on seasons) and very reactive/.sensitive skin. Love La Mer original! Lasts a long time and you don't need a lot. Naysayers here complain about the price ($$$), yet they don't buy it or use it, just bellyache to those of us here that do use it and love it. I ignore them most of the time.
